CITY OF LEWISTON POLICY FOR VACATING OF PROPOSED WAYS Updated 7/16/2008 Effective 7/16/2008 ! Petition to be filed with Development Department Planning Division. ! Planning Board makes recommendation to City Council Street Committee. ! City to provide list of current owners of lots on subdivision to petitioner. ! Petitioner to be responsible to provide City Clerk’s Office with list of property owners and mortgagees certified by Title Attorney. ! Petitioner to provide City Clerk’s Office with list of property owners and mortgagees printed on address labels. ! Petitioner to pay filing fee in accordance with the following schedule: Ø 01 to 50 names $ 55.00 Ø 51 to 100 names 80.00 Ø More than 100 names 105.00 ! City Clerk’s Office to prepare and mail notices to owners of lots on the recorded subdivision plan and their mortgagees of record. ! Public hearing will be held before the City Council on order of vacating. ! City Clerk’s Office will file order of vacation in registry of deeds.
