Traffic Commission October 10, 2013 Page 1 of 2 MINUTES Traffic Commission Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 7:00 AM Historic Carnegie Building 1st Floor Conference Room 405 Grand Avenue, Laramie, WY 82070 The Traffic Conference meetings are open to the public. Requests from person with disabilities must be made to the Community Development Department 48 hours in advance of the meeting. 1. CALL TO ORDER/ ROLL CALL Meeting convened at 7:00 AM Members present: Harold Colby, Megan Hayes, Gary Lopez, Michael Moeller, Nancy Sindelar (Chair), John Spiegelberg Members absent: Rhonda Young There was a quorum present at all times. Council Liaison: Jayne Pearce (present) Staff Present: Randy Griesbach (WYDOT), Eric Jaap, Shane Johnson, Larry Ketcham, Earl Smith, Kathleen Wickersham 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA AND MINUTES 2-A. AGENDA: Thursday, October 10, 2013 Traffic Commission Meeting Agenda Agenda was approved as written. 2-B. MINUTES: Thursday, September 12, 2013Traffic Commission Meeting Minutes MOTION BY MOELLER, second by Lopez, to approve the Minutes from the September 12, 2013 meeting. Aye: 6 Nay: 0 Motion carried. 3. TRAFFIC COMMISSION AND STAFF REPORTS AND COMMENTS None 4. DISCLOSURES None 5. CURRENT BUSINESS OLD BUSINESS No items NEW BUSINESS 5-A. Request for Specifically Reserved Handicap Parking Space – 406 Ord Street The applicant, Janice Workman, requested that a specifically reserved handicap parking space be installed in front of her residence at 406 Ord Street. Aye: 6 Nay: 0 Motion carried. 5-B. Notification and Approval to Remove Handicap Parking Spaces Staff sent letters to residents that currently have a permanent handicap parking space as approved by the Traffic Commission. The letters were a request for information to update the files, and to verify that the original applicant was still in need of the handicap parking space. In regards to the file updates, the City staff has been contacted by the applicant or a family member and has requested that the handicap parking space be eliminated in the following locations: Applicant Location James Timm 853 North 4th Street Ellen M. Brown 754 North Pine Street Beatrice Herrera 904 South 2nd Street Paula J. Wilson-Cazier 200 Block of South 4th Street Shawn Pearson 1162 North 18th Street Michelle Denzer 901 South 17th Street Dianna Covington 203 South 9th Street #11 MOTION BY COLBY, second by Moeller, to approve the elimination of the handicap parking space and sign at the above locations. Aye: 6 Nay: 0 Motion carried. 6. NEXT MEETING DATE – November 14, 2013 7. ADJOURN MOTION BY LOPEZ, second by Colby, to adjourn the meeting. Aye: 6 Nay: 0 Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:25 AM.
