Traffic Commission September 12, 2013 Page 1 of 2 MINUTES Traffic Commission Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 7:00 AM Historic Carnegie Building 1st Floor Conference Room 405 Grand Avenue, Laramie, WY 82070 The Traffic Conference meetings are open to the public. Requests from person with disabilities must be made to the Community Development Department 48 hours in advance of the meeting. 1. CALL TO ORDER/ ROLL CALL Meeting convened at 7:00 AM Members present: Harold Colby, Megan Hayes, Gary Lopez, Michael Moeller, Nancy Sindelar (Chair), John Spiegelberg, Rhonda Young Members absent: None There was a quorum present at all times. APPROVAL OF AGENDA AND MINUTES 2-A. AGENDA: Thursday, September 12, 2013 Traffic Commission Meeting Agenda Agenda was approved as written. 2-B. MINUTES: Thursday, May 09, 2013Traffic Commission Meeting Minutes MOTION BY MOELLER, second by Young, to approve the Minutes from the May 09, 2013 meeting. Aye: 7 Nay: 0 Motion carried. 3. TRAFFIC COMMISSION AND STAFF REPORTS AND COMMENTS Ketcham introduced Harold Colby as a new member to the Traffic Commission and welcomed Earl Smith, the new Director of Public Works. The Commissioners were informed that staff has been sending letters to residents that have in the past, requested and received permanent handicap parking spaces approved through the Traffic Commission . The letters are a request for information to update our files. Information being requested is: a copy of the applicant’s State issued handicap placard; and verification that the person the space was originally issued for is still in need of the handicap parking space. 4. Request for Specifically Reserved Handicap Parking Space – 1115 Reynolds Street The applicant, Ms. Lawana R. Garrett, requested that a specifically reserved handicap parking space be installed in front of her residence at 1115 Reynolds Street. MOTION BY MOELLER, second by Colby, to approve placement of a specifically reserved handicap parking space for the license plate number WY 05-195 and for a handicap hanger 133054 at the location of 1115 Reynolds Street. Aye: 7 Nay: 0 Motion carried. 5-B. Request for Specifically Reserved Handicap Parking Space – 168 North 4th Street The applicant, Ms. Joan Vass, requested a specifically reserved handicap parking space be installed in front of her residence at 168 North 4th Street. MOTION BY SPIEGELBERG, second by Lopez, to approve placement of a specifically reserved handicap parking space for the license plate number WY 05-10307 at the location of 168 North 4th Street.
