TRAFFIC COMMISSION October 11, 2012 STAFF REPORT REQUEST: Add a right turn only lane at 30th Street and Garfield Street LOCATION: 30th Street and Garfield Street APPLICANT(S)/AGENT: City of Laramie OWNER: ROW (City of Laramie) PURPOSE: Add a right turn only lane at 30th Street and Garfield Street PREPARED BY: Eric Jaap, Civil Engineer RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to approve placement of a right turn only lane traveling south bound along 30th Street at Garfield Street. BACKGROUND: None. ADDITIONAL ANALYSIS: When traveling south bound along 30th Street at the Garfield Street intersection the road transitions from two lanes down to one lane. The installation of a right turn only lane at this location will prevent accidents of vehicles not knowing who has the right away when the lanes transition. PUBLIC COMMENTS: Staff has received no public comments related to this project. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: It is the recommendation of staff to approve placement of a right turn only lane traveling south bound along 30th Street at Garfield Street.
