City of Laramie Cost of Summary Benefits FY22 Effective: August 2021 Paid Time Off: o Nine paid City holidays o One personal day o Sick Leave Policy: 8-hour accrual per month up to 960-hour max (Fire Personnel refer to CBA). o Vacation Policy: (Employees hired after 7/1/06) (Fire Personnel refer to CBA): Number of hours: 0-2 years= 8.67 hours per month (104 hours annually) 2-5 years= 10 hours per month (120 hours annually) 6-10 years= 11.67 hours per month (140 hours annually) 11 & above years= 13.33 hours per month (160 hours annually) Vacation Max: Less than 15 years of service 240 hours 15 or more years of service 320 hours Retirement: o Wyoming Retirement System: General Employee Pension: City contributes 9.37% and employee contributes 9.25% Sworn Police Pension: City contributes 8.60% and employee contributes 8.60% Fire Pension: City contributes 16.225% and employee contributes 9.52% o 457 Deferred Compensation Plan: (optional) Retirement plan through the Mission Square Retirement or VALIC, contributions are through payroll deduction and tax deferred. o Roth IRA: (optional) Retirement plan through Mission Square Retirement, contributions are through payroll deduction and are after taxes. Insurance: o Life Insurance: (City-paid) Worth two times annual salary rounded up to the next $1000, maximum of $100,000. Additional life insurance also available to purchase. o Long Term Disability Insurance Plan: (City-paid) Benefit- 40% of salary. (7 credit hours per semester) o Discounted memberships to gyms: Include Laramie Recreation Center, Altitude Fitness and Laramie Fitness. o Discount from Verizon: 18% discount off your phone bill. o Tickets at Work: Receive Up to 75% off movie tickets, concerts, hotels, sports games and theme parks. o Blood Voucher: Free blood draws for Chemistry Panel, as well as PSA and Vitamin D for employees over 40. o Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Five free counseling sessions per fiscal year and 24-hour hotline for you and your family to help with a variety of personal issues. o Retention Bonus: On selected years, you may choose a gift for your years of service, or you may donate the monetary amount to your favorite local charity.
