How to setup remote (VPN) connection to City of Laramie network First make sure you have an internet connection Click on ’Start’ and then ‘Control Panel’ Then select ‘Network and Sharing Center’ ---PAGE BREAK--- Click on ‘Set up a new connection or network’ Select ‘Connect to a workplace’ ---PAGE BREAK--- Select ‘Use my Internet connection (VPN)’ For Internet address type in: 65.127.5.125 and for destination name type in: Laramie VPN ---PAGE BREAK--- Type in your usual city user name and password, for Domain type in: COL then hit ‘Connect’ After hitting ‘Connect’ it will probably give an error message, there is still one more setting that needs to be changed. At the bottom right-hand of the screen click on the icon that looks like a computer monitor, then right click on ‘Laramie VPN’ and select ‘Properties’ ---PAGE BREAK--- Under the ‘Security’ tab click on ‘Advanced settings’ Select ‘Use preshared key for authentication’ and type in “L@ram1e” as the key and hit OK Select ‘OK’ on the rest of the open boxes to close them out ---PAGE BREAK--- Now click on the icon again in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, select “Laramie VPN” and hit ‘Connect’ You should now be connected to the city network Remember to disconnect when you are done
