Haunted House Certificate of Occupancy Checklist □ 1. Compliant with Building Code for Temporary Structures. Capable of withstanding wind and snow loads. □ 2. Fire protection systems unobstructed. Exit signs and emergency lights operational and unobstructed. Exits unobstructed, unlocked, swing in proper direction. □ 3. No Smoking policy in place and “No Smoking” signs posted. □ 4. Patrons properly escorted. Emergency contact provisions available. □ 5. Decorative materials are flame retardant or treated with approved materials in an approved manner. □ 6. Electrical wiring compliant with NEC. Extension cords in good repair; properly supported; not run through doors, walls, etc. Power taps used properly. □ 7. Required 2A 10 BC rated fire extinguisher(s) provided. Travel distance checked. □ 8. Required battery powered smoke detectors installed (One for each 900 sq ft. of occupied space) and operational House lights operational and accessible. □ 9. No open flames present.
