Public Road, Lafayette, Colorado 80026 Fax [PHONE REDACTED] Roofing Code Information/Checklist: • The City of Lafayette requires a permit for any roof work requiring one square (100 sq. fL) or more of shingles. However, we will not specify whether or not an entire reroof is required. • 2012 International Residential Code and International Building Code (No Amendments) • Asphalt roofs shall have no more than two layers • Drip edge/rake metal required • Ice and watershield strongly recommended, not required • Shingles must comply with ASTM D7158 (Class G or H) or shingles must comply with D3 161 Class F (For wind rating) Roofing Permits • Use the regular building permit application when applying for a roof permit. Your application can be faxed, mailed, or dropped off to Building Department at Lafayette City Hall, 1290 5. Public Road. Fax #[PHONE REDACTED]. • Allow 1 to 2 days for processing. Sorry, no over the counter permits. • Contractors need to be licensed with the City of Lafayette. • Payment can be made by check, cash or credit card but must be in person with a credit card. Sorry, no credit cards over phone or fax. You can also mail your check in with a self-addressed stamped envelope and we will mail permit back to you. Schedule an Inspection • Call the inspection hotline [PHONE REDACTED] ext. 3335 the day before you want inspection (Monday thru Friday). Need permit number, address, type of inspection. Inspection Requirements • No mid-roof inspections — one final inspection • Ladder not required unless roof is flat • Inspections are done between 9:00 a.rn.-1 :00 p.m. — Monday thru Friday. • Have the yellow inspection record card posted at the jobsite Inspection Results • Results of inspection are written on the yellow inspection record card which is left at job site after the inspection.
