Committee Recommendation for Proceeding with KC Local Health Officer Position - lllIl20I8 1) If reasonable and practical to do so, continue to contract with a qualified physician for the Health Officer position during the next year. Find out what neighboring rural counties do - contract vs employee of county. Liability I malpractrce insurance - explore cost impact with contract vs employee Consider other factors, as needed. 2) Revise most recent HO contract to reflect anticipated changes/ needs. 3) Put out a Request for Proposals by Feb 1, or ASAP to interested parties, or advertise, as needed. 4) Involve Director Carla Dionne as this process continues 5) Committee meet soon with pertinent HD/ KC staff to clariff next steps, and establish timeline.
