Accounting Administrative Assistant I Various Departments Page 1 of 2 KLICKITAT COUNTY, WASHINGTON POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Accounting Administrative Assistant I EFFECTIVE DATE: June 17, 2014 REPORTS TO: Deputy Director of Finance & Administrative Services PAY GRADE: Grade 35 DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Public Works FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt LOCATION: Goldendale POSITION STATUS: Full Time BASIC JOB PURPOSE/FUNCTION: Performs office accounting tasks, including data entry and clerical, according to established bookkeeping and accounting principles and procedures. Prepares financial-related reports for various functions such as payroll, general ledger, job control, stores issues and accounts payable. Develops and maintains accounting computer system. Adds/removes program updates; tests/verifies reliability of program updates. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: 1. Provides back up assistance to Administrative Assistant III in all modules of SFG and in Technical support functions on a County wide basis. 2. Process daily job cost hours and equipment for Road and ER&R departments. 3. Prepare journal vouchers such as the reclassification of revenues to job costing system 4. Prepare interdepartmental and external government billings for Road and ER&R. 5. Prepare reports as requested using various computer programs. 6. Reconcile contractor hold back and due to/due from accounts. 7. Maintains and updates files, records, and logs on computerized and manual record keeping systems; searches files and records for readily identifiable information as directed. 8. Enter purchase order/AP invoices for department. 9. Respond to vendor payment questions. 10. Reconcile inventory accounts and process material issues and reconcile outstanding purchase orders. ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES: 1. Performs all other duties as necessary. REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques and related tools/equipment to accomplish the basic function of this position, including any safety and/or legal requirements. This may, but not necessarily, include specialized skills.  Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform this job. Licenses, Certificates, and Other Requirements Valid state driver's license in state of residence WORKING CONDITIONS:  This position requires the ability to perform those activities to complete the essential functions of the job, either with or without reasonable accommodation.
