Klickitat County is working to update the existing Shoreline Master Plan What is a Shoreline Master Plan? A Shoreline Master Plan(SMP) is a locally prepared set of policies and regulations required by State law, that govern development in shoreline areas. SMPs are designed to: • Encourage appropriate shoreline development; • Promote public access to the shoreline; and • Provide environmental protection. County staff and the consultant team will be available to answer questions, provide information, and to receive input on the Shoreline Master Plan update. The Open House is: an opportunity for County residents, as well as other interested citizens, to learn more about the SMP update process, gather input on potential updated policies and regulations, and provide feedback to the County.
