Support Enforcement Coordinator Prosecuting Attorney’s Office Page 1 of 2 KLICKITAT COUNTY, WASHINGTON POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Support Enforcement Coordinator EFFECTIVE DATE: January 1, 2010 REPORTS TO: Prosecuting Attorney PAY GRADE: 38 DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Prosecuting Attorney’s Office FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt LOCATION: Goldendale POSITION STATUS: Full-time BASIC JOB PURPOSE/FUNCTION: Coordinates Office of Child Support Enforcement referrals relating to paternity, UIFSA (initiating and responding interstate cases), modifications, contempt, qualified domestic relations orders, and Division of Child Support (DCS) defense cases within Klickitat County. Provides clerical support for attorney assigned to support enforcement. Distinguished from Legal Secretary II by specialization in support enforcement. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: 1. Prepares all court documents, forms, and correspondence for paternity, URESA, modification, contempt, qualified domestic relations orders, and DCS defense cases. 2. Arranges and conducts initial interviews with custodial parents to establish paternity and support orders and to collect back support. 3. Schedules buccal swab appointments with various laboratories and offices throughout the state. Performs buccal swabs on parties to paternity actions assigned to Klickitat County by the DSHS Division of Child Support. 4. Responds to inquiries from and reports case status to the Office of Support Enforcement through the State Computer SEMS system. Communicates with mothers and alleged fathers, representatives, state offices concerning particular cases. Drafts correspondence and pleadings. 5. Files in court all paternity, URESA, modification, contempt, qualified domestic relation orders, and DCS defense case documents. Prepares payrolls and invoices for state reimbursement. 6. Prepares yearly budget for Office of Support Enforcement. Prepares year end accrual reports and yearly grant reporting for the Office of Support Enforcement and submits reports to Klickitat County Auditor. ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES: 1. Drafts legal documents for a civil or criminal matter. 2. Receives incoming calls and routes to proper attorney or support staff. 3. Greets the public and either answers questions or directs to appropriate person. 4. Perform other related duties as needed REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques and related tools/equipment to accomplish the basic function of this position, including any safety and/or legal requirements. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be High school diploma or GED, three years experience working as a legal secretary, four years experience working as a secretary, or one year of secretarial trade school and three years of secretarial experience Licenses, Certificates, and Other Requirements Valid state driver's license in state of residence Notary Public WORKING CONDITIONS:  This position requires the ability to perform those activities to complete the essential functions of the job, either with or without reasonable accommodation.
