Klickitat County Request for Public Records Definition: "Public record includes any writing containing information relating to the conduct of government or the performance of any governmental or proprietary function prepared, owned, used, or retained by the any state or local agency regardless of physical form or characteristics." (RCW 42.17.020) Records must be identifiable: 1)The request must be for a public record, and 2) the record must be Identifiable. (RCW 42.17.270) NOTE: Your Name, Phone Number and Mailing Address are requested. Every effort will be made to provide a "public record" while the requestor is in the office; however, occasionally it will take additional time to retrieve a record or obtain approval for the release of certain records. For those records not immediately available or those that must have release approval, the requestor will be notified when the records are ready for pickup. The requestor may have the materials mailed/faxed if it is not convenient to return to the office or if original request was by mail or fax.
