Address: Summary of Incident: Kennewick Police detectives have recently investigated numerous cases wherein teen age victims are solicited through social media platforms and as a result, have become victims of various crimes through these solicitations. These solicitation attempts usually come in as innocent or innocuous requests to be friends or follow someone via their social media accounts. From there, these suspects force victims to engage in behaviors they would not normally participate in. KPD would like to take this opportunity to remind parents and their children to be exercise due caution when communicating with anyone not previously known to you via any forms of electronic communications. Additionally, there are an abundance of online resources available regarding internet safety and related topics.
