Address: Summary of Incident: Today, approximately 0543 hours, KPD patrol officers were dispatched to a disturbance with weapons at the above address. Upon arrival, officers found Michelle Maldanado with stab wounds and lacerations. Phillmore Cole was also found with stab wounds and lacerations. The initial investigation revealed both Phillmore and Michelle were believed to have been assaulted by Rayfield Cole, Phillmore's brother. The two brothers reside next door to one another. Michelle was believed to have been assaulted first by Rayfield, and Phillmore was summoned by others to assist. While trying to stop Rayfield, Phillmore was also assaulted. Although there were children present when the assault occurred, none of the children were physically harmed in any fashion. Both the victims required medical treatment at Trios for the injuries. Both are expected to recover from their respective injuries. Rayfield was located inside apartment #A and was shortly thereafter taken into police custody. He was medically cleared at Trios and booked into Benton County Jail charged with 1 count of Assault 1 / Domestic Violence and 1 count of Assault 2 / Domestic Violence. The investigation is continuing. Detectives are interviewing other witnesses including the children.
