Landscaping Certification Per KMC 18.21 Date: Project Project Parcel Number Business Name Owner Name Business Address Owner Address Business City/St/Zip Owner City/St/Zip We the owners, our agents and assigns, agree we are responsible for providing, protecting, and maintaining all landscaping material in a healthy and growing condition, replacing it when necessary, and keeping it free of refuse and debris. It is agreed that dead or diseased plants, as determined by the Development Services Department, must be replaced within 30 days of notification, or as soon as practical in regard to freezing weather, or complex situations involving removal and replacement of large trees. All plantings will be fertilized, irrigated, and pruned at such intervals necessary to promote optimum growth. All landscaped areas will be kept free of debris and weeds. Street trees must be allowed to mature and be maintained without obstructing the visual access to the storefront at a height of at least 30 ft. or taller, that best reflects the building design and business and storefront character. Plant materials will not interfere with public utilities, restrict pedestrian or vehicular access, or constitute a traffic hazard. At least 40% of the entire parking lot must be shaded by these trees within 12 years of planting. New groundcover or shrubbery planted will provide minimum ground coverage of 50 percent within three years of initial planting. All required sight obscuring screening will produce a dense sight-obscuring screen and will reach six feet in height within three years of planting.
