5/11/2017 Daily Inter Lake , Bids open for rail park construction http://www.dailyinterlake.com/article/20170510/ARTICLE/170519989 1/1 BIDS OPEN FOR RAIL PARK CONSTRUCTION May 10, 2017 at 7:27 pm I Daily Inter Lake The City of Kalispell opened bidding May 8 for the construction of the new Glacier Rail Park. The park will be a 41-acre, rail-served industrial facility built to serve the northwest Montana region. The park will create 20 business lots on the east side of WhiteÒsh Stage Road, north of East Oregon Street and west of East Oregon Lane. Rail-reliant businesses currently located in the downtown Kalispell area will be relocated to the park upon its completion to make way for the redevelopment of the CORE Area and the removal of the tracks from downtown. Development of the park will include upgrading several roads to meet city of Kalispell road standards, installing storm-water collection and disposal, extending city water and sewer service, adding a signaled intersection, providing dry utilities (gas, electricity, etc.) and construction of various railroads. A portion of the project is funded by a Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery grant obtained through the U.S. Department of Transportation.
