In order to encourage the planting of trees the City of Kalispell has established a cost sharing program for right-of-way plantings for residential properties. The City has appropriated funds for this program and the program will be administered on a first come first serve basis. Trees will be planted in either the fall or spring. Trees will planted by a contractor to meet the specifications of the tree ordinance (spacing, species, etc.) and in accordance with ANSI A300 planting standards. All nursery stock will meet the American Standard for Nursery Stock ANSI Z60.1-2014 standards. Once planted it will be the responsibility of the adjacent landowner to water and care for the tree to help ensure survivability. All trees in the public right- of-way are the property of the city.
