NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE JEFFERSON COUNTY The Jefferson County Board of Commissioners has tentatively adopted a 2017 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 12.29 percent. All citizens are invited to attend public hearings on this tax increase to be held at the County Commissioner’s Office, 217 E Broad Street, Louisville, GA 30434 on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 9:00 A.M. The tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 18.126 mills, an increase of 2.024 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 16.102 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $75,000 is approximately $56.67 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $75,000 is approximately is $60.72.
