Roads in Hoover that Are Maintained by Jefferson County Jefferson County is responsible for road maintenance, drainage maintenance, surface maintenance and vegetation control within the right of way for the following roadways located within the city limits of Hoover: Alford Avenue from Tyler Road to Shades Crest Road All of Shades Crest Road except that portion between McAllister Shopping Center north to the intersection of Alford Avenue All of South Shades Crest Road within the city limits of Hoover Lorna Road from U.S. 31 south to the intersection of Highway 150 and U.S. 31 Lorna Road south from Highway 150 south to the Jefferson-Shelby County line Old Rocky Ridge Road from Lorna Road east through the city limits Patton Chapel Road from Lorna Road west through the city limits Rocky Ridge Road from Lorna Road east through the city limits Tyler Road from Old Columbiana Road west through the city limits
