STATEMENT OF OWNERSHIP In accordance with the provisions of the State Constitution and Laws authorizing Homestead Exemption, I do hereby make application to the Board of Tax Assessors of Greene County and do solemnly swear that I am a qualified applicant according to O.C.G.A. 48-5-40. Chairman, Greene County Tax Assessors Applicant’s Signature Date Definitions: “Ad valorem taxes for county purposes” means all ad valorem taxes for county purposes levied by, for or on behalf of Greene County, including, but not limited to, any ad valorem taxes to pay interest on and to retire county bonded indebtedness. “Base year” means the taxable year in which the exemption is first granted to the most recent owner of such homestead. “Homestead” means homestead as defined and qualified in Code Section 48-5-40 of the O.C. G. as amended, with the additional qualification that it shall include only the primary residence and not more than five contiguous acres of land immediately surrounding such residence. IF THIS APPLICATION IS DENIED, THE APPLICANT MAY APPEAL. SUCH APPEAL SHALL BE MADE IN THE SAME MANNER THAT OTHER PROPERTY TAX APPEALS ARE MADE PURSUANT TO CODE SECTION 48-5-311.
