Date posted: 11/02/21 2021 RFP# 2021-005 City of Gilbert, Iowa REQUEST FOR BIDS for Snow Removal RFP #2021-005 The purpose of this Request for Bids (RFB) is to solicit bid applications which will enable the City of Gilbert to select the most qualified Applicant to provide: snow removal for city owned sidewalks, entries, as well as nuisance snow removal as directed by city staff. Project and Contract Period The project period shall be from first snow fall of ½” or greater after November 15, 2021 to last snow fall of spring 2022. Scope of Services Provide snow removal and ice control for city owned sidewalks in the following locations: *105 SE 2nd St (City Hall) approximately 820 feet including area in front of entrances and truck bays. *133 Mathews Drive (Lions Park) approx. 545 feet *207, 209, 213 Main Street (Library, Museum, City Building) approx. 350 feet combined. Including sidewalk between Library & Museum *306 First St. (water plant) approx. 223 feet *Railroad crossings at Mathews Dr.; 1st St. – approx. 250 feet *100 Bennett St. (Bandford Park) – approx. 599 feet all entrances combined *Cross walks in round-a-bout *Christian Petersen Ave. entrance to walking path * Prairie View Dr. (between 311 & 315) entrance to walking path * Prairie View Dr. (between 310 & 312)/Hawthorne Circle (between 313 & 317) walking path. For all snowfalls/drifting of half an inch or greater, or as directed by city staff. Ice control must be non-salt material. Proof of insurance statement If awarded: 1. Expenditure variance amounts are allowed up to a maximum of 5% of the approved budget amount. The Contractor shall submit a written justification and request for a budget amendment to the City prior to the obligation of an expense which will exceed the allowed 5% cumulative variance. The Contractor shall submit a written justification and request for a budget amendment when expenditures not previously approved are anticipated. 2.
