SUMMARY OF ACTION FCC Meeting: WEDNESDAY, January 19, 2011 4:00 p.m. OPEN MEETING – PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 1. ROLL CALL. Present: Councilman Edgington, Councilman Chaffin, Councilman Eilrich. Councilwoman Malloy arrived at 4:53pm. Absent/Excused: Councilwoman Parsons was absent. 2. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA. There were no changes to the agenda. 3. JOINT WORKSHOP BETWEEN CITY COUNCIL AND FERNLEY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. No action was taken on this item. It was informational item only. 4. PROCLAMATIONS BY THE MAYOR. There were no proclamations. 5. CONSENT AGENDA: (PLEASE NOTE: All matters listed under the consent agenda are considered routine, and may be acted upon by the Council members in one motion, and without an extensive hearing. RECEIVING AND APPROVAL OF AUDITED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2009-2010. Motion: moved to accept the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, including audited financial statements as presented, Action: Approve, Moved by Councilwoman Malloy, Seconded by Councilman Chaffin. PRESENTATION OF FINANCIAL STATEMENT FOR SECOND QUARTER OF FISCAL YEAR 2010-2011. No action was taken on this item. It was informational item only. 10. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE APPROVAL OF PURCHASE OF A USED STREET SWEEPER BY THE CITY OF FERNLEY. Motion: to authorize the City Engineer to purchase a used Mobile Broom Mobile Sweeper for the lowest competitive bid, not to exceed the amount of $30,000 and authorize City Manager and City Clerk to execute the agreement, Action: Approve, Moved by Councilman Chaffin, Seconded by Councilman Edgington. Vote: Motion carried by unanimous roll call vote (summary: Yes = Yes: Councilman Chaffin, Councilman Edgington, Councilman Eilrich, Councilwoman Malloy. Absent: Councilman Parsons. 11. PRESENTATION BY TCID REPRESENTATIVE ON 2010 FLOW STATISTICS IN TRUCKEE CANAL AND DISCUSSION ON CURRENT AND RECENT WORK BEING CONDUCTED ON CANAL, INCLUDING AN OVERVIEW OF THE FUTURE OF THE TRUCKEE CANAL. No action was taken on this item. It was informational item only. 12. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE APPROVAL OF FY 2010/2011 ROAD TAX COLLECTION AGREEMENT BETWEEN LYON COUNTY AND THE CITY OF FERNLEY. Malloy Motion: to approve the FY2010/2011 Road Tax Collection Agreement as presented, and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the agreement and authorize staff to submit the quarterly report to the Lyon County as required by State law, NRS 278.710, Action: Approve, Moved by Councilwoman Malloy, Seconded by Councilman Edgington.
