News Release City of Fernley Shannon Weltzin Voice (775) 784-9863 Fax (775) 784-9967 [EMAIL REDACTED] 08/29/2011 www.cityoffernley.org FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NEW STOP SIGNS ON SHADOW LANE Fernley, NV – August 29, 2011 – The City of Fernley Public Works & General Services Department has recently completed a speed study on Shadow Lane near the intersection of Rosecrest Drive. The speed study indicated that over two thirds of vehicles travel through this area at speeds greater than 35 MPH. The speed limit in this area is posted at 25 MPH. To make the intersection and the residential neighborhood safer, the City will be installing stop signs at the intersection of Shadow Lane and Rosecrest Drive. The City will continue to monitor the Shadow Lane area and implement additional traffic calming measures as necessary to improve public safety through this corridor.
