The Fernley Builders Association & City of Fernley are pleased to present: 2006 Holiday of Lights Contest The holidays are right around the corner which means it time to dig out the lights and decorations to light Fernley up! This years contest is sponsored by the Fernley Builders Association and the City of Fernley. Our goal is to light up our City, spread Christmas cheer and more importantly to support our local food pantries. All entry fees (100%) will be donated to the food pantries of Fernley! Entry fees for the 2006 contest are $20.00 and $50.00 for businesses. Entries are due by December 12th and may be mailed to the Fernley Builders Association or dropped off at local businesses (see entry form on the back of this page for additional details). This year in remembrance of Fernley resident, Todd Stare, we will be awarding the “Todd Stare Spirit of Christmas” award to the entry displaying the most Christmas spirit. Todd always had a wonderful display on Stock Lane that anyone traveling on the west end of town could enjoy. Todd passed on earlier this year and will be missed by all! Categories (Circle one): Large Lots (over ½ acre) Small Lots (½ acre or smaller) Business Themes (Circle one): Traditional: Light Display Lights in Motion: Moving Animals, lights in animation Religious: Nativity scenes and other religious symbols New this year we will be awarding a perpetual trophy for the “Todd Stare Spirit of Christmas” award. Todd Stare was a huge supporter of the Christmas light contest and always had a wonderful display on Stock Lane that could be seen by anyone traveling on the west side of town. Todd passed on earlier this year and will be missed by everyone! We will also have a winner for mayor’s choice award. All entries are due by December 12, 2006. Judging will take place on December 16th, 17th, and 18th between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm. Please be sure to have your lights on during those hours on all three nights.
