A motion to authorize issuance of electronic purchase orders for owner- furnished equipment for the West Lift Station Upgrade project was APPROVED by a vote of 5-0-0. 4. ADDRESS DECISION TO APPROVE PRINCIPLES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A COMPREHENSIVE SETTLEMENT OF WATER-RELATED ISSUES BETWEEN THE CITY OF FERNLEY AND THE PYRAMID LAKE PAIUTE TRIBE A motion to approve Principles for the Development of a Comprehensive Settlement of Water-related issues between the city of Fernley and the Pyramid Lake Paiute tribe was approved by a vote of 5-0-0. 5. NO action was taken on this item. Councilman Martin stated that he wanted to continue this item. 7. ADDRESS UPDATE PRESENTATION ON GRANTS RECEIVED: 7.A. US DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, BRYNE DISCRETIONARY GRANTS, “CITY OF FERNLEY, NEVADA FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT EQUIPMENT” $300,000 7.B. US DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES, “CITY OF FERNLEY, NEVADA FOR DEVELOPMENT AND ENHANCEMENT OF A HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT DOWNTOWN CORRIDOR TO ATTRACT BUSINESS AND GENERATE JOBS.” $95,000. 7.C. BUREAU OF RECLAMATION THROUGH STATE OF NEVADA FOR PREPARATION OF STORM DRAINAGE MASTER PLAN. $74,823.00 NO action was taken on this item. 8. ADDRESS CONSIDERATION OF CHARACTER, ALLEGED MISCONDUCT, PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE, OR PHYSICAL OR MENTAL HEALTH OR TO CONSIDER AN APPEAL REGARDING THE RESULTS OF AN EXAMINATION CONDUCTED BY OR ON BEHALF OF THE PUBLIC BODY AS IT RELATES TO TERMINATION OF THE CITY TREASURER’S EMPLOYMENT (PER COUNCILMEMBER MALLOY REQUEST). A motion to remove the City Treasure from her position at his time was APPROVED by a vote of 3-2-0, Chaffin and Martin opposed. 9. ADDRESS CONSOLIDATION OF THE TREASURER’S OFFICE AND THE CITY CLERK’S OFFICE INTO ONE OFFICE (PER COUNCILMEMBER MALLOY REQUEST). A motion to direct staff to look at the process and bring back information for this agenda item was APPROVED by a vote of 4-1-0, Martin opposed. A motion to direct city Manager immediately hire a consultant for budget preparation was approved by a vote of 5-0-0. 10. PUBLIC INPUT. Address revisions of accounting and control procedures that need to be made in order to come with compliance with the audit and to properly safeguard of the City asserts. Parsons asked to put mesa Drive workshop on agenda. 13. ADJOURNMENT. The meeting was ADJOURNED at 8:08 p.m. by a vote of 5-0-0.
