News Release City of Fernley Leslieann Hayden Voice (775) 784-9851 Fax (775) 784-9869 [EMAIL REDACTED] 9/16/09 www.cityoffernley.org FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NOTICE FROM THE CITY OF FERNLEY CITY CLERK Fernley, NV – September 16, 2009 –A Special Recall Election will be held on Friday, October 9, 2009 at Fernley City Hall, 595 Silver Lace Blvd, Fernley, NV 89408 for the Ward Three Council Seat currently occupied by Councilman Monte Martin. The City Clerk’s Office at City Hall will be open and accepting voter registration for residents living in Ward Three that did not register to vote in the last election until 9:00 pm on Saturday, September 19, 2009 per NRS 293C.527. The City Clerk’s Office is also accepting petitions from residents seeking to be on the Special Recall Election ballot. Any petitions for potential candidates cannot be accepted after Saturday, September 19, 2009. For more information regarding how to petition to be on the Special Recall Election ballot and/or what the requirements are to hold a City Council seat, please contact the Secretary of State’s Office at [PHONE REDACTED] or visit their website at http://sos.state.nv.us. Understanding that many of Fernley’s residents have schedules that often do not allow visits to City Hall during regular office hours, the City Clerk has established an early voting schedule that will allow residents to vote at City Hall on the Saturday proceeding Election Day and during expanded office hours the week of the election. A schedule of early voting hours is listed below. On Election Day, October 9, 2009, polls will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm at City Hall, 595 Silver Lace Blvd., Fernley, NV 89408.
