Fernley, NV – August 20, 2006 – As part of the City’s continuing efforts to celebrate and recognize Fernley’s outstanding youth, Mayor David Stix, Jr., treated the Desert Valley Dynomite softball team to lunch at Chuckar’s Casino on Thursday. The 12 member Desert Valley Dynomite team, and their coaches, were invited to have lunch with the Mayor to celebrate the teams placement at the 2006 Western World Series. The team represented Fernley in Seattle, Washington earlier this season and finished an incredible 9th place out of 33 teams. Chuckar’s Casino assisted with the celebration by decorating the restaurant in the team’s colors: purple and silver, and developed a special menu for the team featuring the Dynomite Burger! The Mayor hosted the luncheon specifically to congratulate the team and to spend the time getting their ideas and feedback about Fernley. He thanked the young ladies for representing Fernley and told them that the City and the community were very proud of their efforts.
