COMPREHENSIVE HOMELESS ASSISTANCE PROVIDERS C.H.A.P. Regular Meeting September 25, 2014 Su Hodgman from Four Winds Recovery Center gave an update on the Detox portion of their program. She stated that there has been no change or progress made and they are looking at November to close the Detox portion. They will continue to provide the residential treatment program. Beverly Charley from NM Workforce Solutions gave a presentation regarding the upcoming Homeless Stand Down that will be held October 10, 2014 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at the San Juan College. This is open to the homeless whether Veteran or Non‐Veteran. They have 35 supporting agencies this year. San Juan College will be offering dental services and DNA Legal Services will be there with Attorneys available for questions. They have outreach to all through Radio Ads and Interviews. Abeyta from DNA Legal Services gave a presentation regarding various legal services they provide. They started having an event 8 times a year entitled Veteran’s Legal Services to provide help for the veterans in this area. They have served over 80 veterans in the city of Farmington. They have a VA licensed attorney in Farmington and are looking to hire an attorney specializing in Veteran Benefits. They have an extensive network and are taking referrals. Their office is located at 709 N. Butler. Jessica Stopani from Masada House announced that they were having a fundraiser on October 4, 2014 from 8 am to 3 pm at Riley Industrial Services. They will having a carwash, bake sale and yard sale. Beth Volkerding announce that Desert View Family Counseling Services has re‐opened a satellite office in Aztec. It is located at 220 E. Chuska and will be opening on October 9, 2014. Atencio Charleston from stated that they still have beds available and are still taking clients. Shantel Mitchell‐Cooley from Veteran’s Affairs announced that she still has housing available for homeless veterans. Farmington Police Department did not have any updates.
