There will be all kinds of categories to enter your dog in so they can show off their stuff! Along with the show, there will be other dog lovin’ activities to participate in! And don’t forget to visit the photo booth to get a cool picture taken with your best canine friend! Pre-registration by Wednesday, July 10th is required for entries in the show. Court reservations can be made by calling 599-1184. Proper court shoes must be worn and eye guards are rec- ommended when playing racquetball. Racquets are avail- able for rent at $1.00 per racquet and eye guards are avail- able free of charge. Court Fees: $3.00 per person per hour GYM Want to just shoot some baskets or play in a quick pickup basketball game? Check out the Recreation Center’s open gym hours at the front desk! Fee: $1.00 per person per day When you love your workout, results come easily. That’s why Jazzercise blends aerobics, yoga, Pilates, and kickbox- ing movements into fun dance routines set to fresh music. All fitness levels are welcome! The equipment is available at the Recre- ation Center. Only 3 of the racquetball courts are designed for Wallyball, so please specify “Wallyball” when reserving a court. Fee: $2.00 per person per hour WALKING Want to walk this summer, but not in the blazing hot sun? Come to the Recreation Center Monday through Friday from Noon till 1pm and walk in the cool air of the gym. Wednesdays at 7:00pm Saturdays at 10:00am Cost is $4 per class – TRY IT OUT!! $30 for 10 classes $50 for 20 classes $70 for 32 classes With Instructor Shirley Murphy. The routines feature interval- training sessions where fast and slow and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Then we will finish the event by the kids challenging the 2013 Summer Recreation Staff to a game of Sand Volleyball! Pre- registration by Thursday, May 30th is required for this event! Leaders will provide activities including stories, singing and music, group games, and simple crafts. Bring your drink and snack each day and let’s have some fun! We will learn to hula dance, make a hula skirt, and enjoy a fun story about Hawaii. Wednesday, July 3: Water World Do you like to swim? Come join us and learn about animals that live in the water. We will play water inspired games, cre- ate an animal craft, and listen to a story! Please bring a towel because you might get a little wet! Wednesday, July 17: Teddy Time Join us for this fun adventure where you can bring your favorite teddy bear or stuffed animal. We will play games with the teddy bears, make a craft, and listen to a story. Kids’ sports and fitness SPORTS SAMPLER Program: Hey all you little sports fans! Register for this one week class where you get to play a different sport each day! We will play soccer, t-ball, basketball, and track & field. Wear your tennis shoes and bring lots of energy! Camps will provide an introduction to the game of tennis including instruction on techniques, rules, and strategies. Each Camp session will provide one hour of instruction beginnning on Monday and ending on Thursday with Fridays optional for rain make-ups. Each participant needs to wear comfortable clothing, athletic shoes, and a hat/visor. Also bring sunscreen, a water bottle, tennis racquet (or borrow one from the park), a positive attitude, and a desire to have fun! HMCT uses professional actors to perform with and direct the children in a children’s play. HMCT is operated by Sandstone Productions. The children in the program will: • Participate in theatre with professionals • Learn basic musical theatre skills • Learn basic dance steps • Memorize all songs/lines for the production • Learn the value of theatre while having fun! We will watch a movie about what is out there beyond our world, make crafts for the 4th of July, and even have a day to come dressed up as your favorite “star”. On Friday we will attend the Fun Friday Special called Star Spangled Celebration and Picnic. You are sure to become star crazy this week! Participants must bring a lunch and two snacks each day. We will watch a movie about a sport we do not have here in Farmington. On Friday we will go to the Fun Friday Special called Balls of Fun. Don’t miss out on all the ‘ball’riffic fun.
