They deal with the homeless or at risk of being homeless individuals who have a substance abuse problem. Anna Holiday, an employee of TBHA, gave us a tour of the property. Presentation: Tiffany Hergenreter gave updates on the New Beginnings program. This program is transitional living for women and children for up to a year that have suffered from Domestic Violence. The program helps these individuals rebuild their lives. New Beginnings has a new logo as well as a new website and are now have PayPal available to those that wish to donate. A donation of $84.00 would take care of one individual for a month. They also have a new Executive Director – Rena Bibo. They have a lot of land that they would like to see trailers donated for a program where the women can adopt a trailer as their own. They also still have a dormitory that is sitting empty as they do not have the funds to bring it up to code. They will be having two fundraisers in the coming months. First one is a Yard/Bake Sale on April 5, 2014 at the World Harvest Center from 7am to 2pm. The second fundraiser is a Golf Tournament to be held at the Hidden Valley Golf Course on June 7, 2014 at 8:30 am. Any questions regarding both fundraisers can be answered by calling New Beginnings at 325‐7578. ---PAGE BREAK--- Updates: Justin Nichols from the Farmington Police Department encouraged the members attending to participate in the JIP. He also discussed getting to know the Red Apple Transit system and the routes that can help out individuals that they deal with. Julie Baird, General Services Director with the City of Farmington invited everyone to the Work Session to be held on April 1, 2014 at 9:00 am. Mike Renaud and Vince Mitchell will be giving the Mayor and Councilors a presentation on the Joint Intervention Program. Thomas Good luck and Arcenio Charleston from the Navajo Regional Behavioral Health Center gave a brief presentation of their organization. The is a lead agency to provide holistic culturally responsive substance abuse and co‐occurring mental health services to the Navajo/Native individuals and their families on the Navajo Nation. It consists of an intake and three healing centers. They are located in the old hospital in Shiprock, NM.
