Wall St. 566-2288 THE SILVER FITNESS CENTER 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Omega Soto: Recreational Program Coordinator Carol Gutierrez: Senior Center Aide Louella Pettigrew: Senior Center Aide I just love this time of year. The wondrous beauty of God’s creation, with autumn colors in abundance. May each one of us take the time to observe the beauty all around us! As the weather gets cooler, may we fi nd warmth in the friendships that abound through the fellowship found here at Bonnie Dallas. Autumn marks the beginning of the end of another year. Days come and go by so very quickly; at times we wonder just where did the time go, whether it is a week, month or even the year? May we be awakened that our days are numbered, therefore may we strive to live each day to its fullest. Let us seek out others, who may be less fortunate, thereby brightening their lives. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It is a non-commercialized holiday, which opens itself up to one’s own ideas of celebration and tradition. On November 15, we will gather at the center for our traditional holiday dinner. Then, on the 28th most will gather with family and friends to give THANKS to God for His wonderful hand of mercy that has guided us throughout the year. May Thanksgiving be more than a holiday, may it fi nd a place in our hearts, thus becoming a state of mind in which we live out each day! Mark your calendars for the following upcoming events: October 31: Halloween Luncheon, Dance, and Costume Contest. November 2: Craft Fair at the Bonnie Dallas Senior Center and the Recreation Center. November 3: Daylight Savings Time Ends (turn your clocks back one hour: “Fall Back”). November 4: December 2: Medicare Part D Counseling (call 566-2256 for an appointment). November 15: Thanksgiving Dinner at the Center. December 7: Luminaire Tour display at San Juan College; $1.00, leave Center at 6pm. December 13: Christmas Dinner at the Center. December 31: New Year’s Eve Dance in the Activity Center (8:00 pm – Midnight). January 18: Bar D Wranglers to entertain at the Center – tickets on sale January 31: Volunteer Appreciation Dinner at the Center. With Thanksgiving and Christmas fast approaching, let us be thankful for the bountiful blessings that each day gives and the opportunities to make a positive difference to those around us. May each of you have a Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year! God Bless Each of You!
