FARMINGTON PRCA SURVEY 2014 Invitation Web and Mail Versions Importance of PRCA Amenities How Much Household Needs Are Met Area Household Importance of PRCA Amenities/How Your Household Needs Are Being Met 5 5 Northeast Single, no children The funds expended to develop and maintain Farmington's park and recreation is money well spent. It adds great value to the community. 5 5 Northwest Couple with children at home The parks are well maintained, it is nice to go to them. 5 5 Southwest Couple with children at home kids like the summer activities. 5 4 Northeast Couple, children no longer at home We love to see the River trail extended, and the bike lane extended on Foothills. ( I am not sure this is a PRCA issue.) 5 4 Northeast Single, no children There are practically no programs or activities for anyone ages 22-49 in this town. Also an indoor swimming pool located on the east side of town would appreciated. 5 4 Northwest Couple with children at home I wish there was better advertisement for activities. I hear all the time, I didn't even know that was happening. Even to look up activities online is sometimes a challenge. 5 4 Northwest Couple with children at home I would like to see more bike paths off of the street an long side the road. I feel this who make it easier for familys to use without the danger of traffic. 5 4 Northwest Couple with children at home more advertisement and easy online resources would be great! 5 4 Northwest Single, no children I am worried about the Road Apple Rally trail. I would like to see some type of city, or city/county protection of the trail system. Urban sprall is endangering the trail. 5 4 Southeast Couple with children at home Parks are wonderful, well-located and maintained. We use Aquatic Center 2- 3x/wk, E3 and Farmington Museum and Library regularly as well. 5 4 Southeast Couple with children at home The needs that could be improved are the availability of picnic areas 5 4 Southeast Couple with children at home The park by the mall could use a restroom facility. It is a heavily used park in the public. 5 4 Southwest Couple, children no longer at home Look forward to the continuation of river walk trails PLUS biking trails separate from automobile traffic. 5 3 Northeast Couple, children no longer at home We would really like for the river walk trail that connects downtown to the Farmington Gateway Museum. 5 3 Northwest Couple with children at home More river features for kayaking and rafting. More mountain bike trails. Bleachers at the soccer fields. Low cost options, daytime options, reduced prices for larger families. 5 2 Couple, no children Need to improve piñon hills golf course! not just rely on its reputation Can't believe the ice rink was voted down because can't host a HUGE national tournament right away-Farmington needs to build its love of the rink/figure skating/hockey before should host a national event, start smaller. Durango rink at Chapman Hill is booked 9am-11pm every day. We are traveling up there for something that could help build San Juan County!!! 5 1 Northwest Couple with children at home I would like to see more information, and easy to find information, on local team sports for kids and youth. I have a very hard time locating the right page to even find out what is available for my kids. Being new to NM with two small children this means the world to me and already it took so long that I missed 2 open enrollment windows and i'm now out of luck. 4 5 Northeast Couple with children at home Farmington does a great job of keeping the parks looking clean and beautiful! 4 3 Southeast Single, no children The abatement of non-native species of plants on the bosque needs to be addressed. (salt cedar/Russian olive) 3 3 Northeast Couple, no children We think there are an overabundance of parks in Farmington. No matter how you calculate it, parks per square mile, parks per capita, etc. it doesn't add up. Additionally, rarely do we see more than a few people in parks as we drive by, if any. When we have out of town visitors, we do not utilize the city parks. 3 3 Northwest Couple, children no longer at home In years past, as a younger person I did enjoy the gym at the college. Now I just don't get around much now. 5 5 Northeast Couple, children no longer at home Draws younger families to area 5 5 Northeast Single with children at home PRCA is doing a great job! Thanks! 5 5 Northeast Couple, children no longer at home Love parks, swimming, museum. Great job. 5 5 Northwest Couple with children at home Excellent! Otherwise, we have great parks. 5 4 Northeast Couple, children no longer at home There are very nice facilities and opportunities, just continueng to maintain and enhance, as well as further development! 5 4 Northeast Couple, no children Love the tennis courts - they could be used for more local tournaments! 5 4 Northeast Couple, no children Security needs to show they are around 5 4 Northeast Solid footing walking paths thru parks with more benches would be helpful 5 4 Northwest Couple with children at home Lions Pool needs utalized 5 4 Northwest Couple with children at home Need better bike lanes/more mountain bike trails and activities 5 4 Northwest Couple with children at home We have seen some changes on programming for kids that we don't like. One big event instead of choices. 5 4 Northwest Couple with children at home Would like to see more club sports - soccer 5 4 Northwest Couple, children no longer at home Lions Pool seems to be overlooked for repairs - I know it was worked on last year - but pool is ALWAYS COLD 5 4 Northwest Couple, children no longer at home People need to clean up after their DOGS! 5 4 Northwest Single with children at home Especially enjoy walking trails 5 4 Northwest Single, children no longer at home It is good but could be a little better RRC Associates IMPORTANCE OF AVAILABILITY: 1=Not At All Important, 5=Very Important MEETING HOUSEHOLD NEEDS: 1=Not At All, 5=Completely Page 3 of 37 ---PAGE BREAK--- FARMINGTON PRCA SURVEY 2014 Invitation Web and Mail Versions Importance of PRCA Amenities How Much Household Needs Are Met Area Household Importance of PRCA Amenities/How Your Household Needs Are Being Met 5 4 Northwest Single, no children I would like to see Farmington Lake to be open to kayaks 5 4 Northwest Single, no children Keep up the good work! 5 4 Northwest Single, no children Museum used to have adult craft classes 5 4 Southeast Couple with children at home Bigger gym at Sycamore Park 5 4 Southeast Couple with children at home Detailed advertisements, as we access public lands very often 5 3 Northeast Couple with children at home Need more activities for school age kids during the summer 5 3 Northeast Couple with children at home The restrooms need to be open year round 5 3 Northeast Couple, children no longer at home I feel unsafe at Berg Park. Enebriates 5 3 Northeast Couple, no children Need more paved lighted running trails 5 3 Northwest Couple with children at home Have more amenities and activities throughout the parks 5 3 Northwest Couple with children at home Senior center needs more room 5 3 Northwest Couple with children at home We have no parks in Crouch Mesa area, would be great for kids 5 3 Southeast Couple with children at home The aquatic center is too expensive and the water is too cold 5 2 Northeast Single with children at home There are no parks in Crouch Mesa area 5 2 Southeast Couple with children at home The fact that Farmington Lake is closed to boaters is appalling 5 1 Northeast Couple with children at home Most all activities are oriented towards one group of people and time of these activities needs to be expanded 5 1 Northwest Couple with children at home More stuff for people over 80 4 5 Southwest Single, no children I live close and traffic is sometimes bad; speed bumps would be nice 4 4 Northwest Single, children no longer at home Farmington has been a great place to raise my children; when they were younger we had lots of activities/places. They're all grown up and moved away so it's not as important to me now. 4 4 Couple with children at home Very nice, well kept facilities 4 4 Couple, children no longer at home We live near Berg Park and often enjoy that area. We are looking forward to longer trails being available. 4 3 Northeast Single, no children We need a dog park! 4 3 Northwest Couple, no children Glad you moved Pinon Hills accounts out of PRCA 4 2 Northeast Couple with children at home Not enough playground equipment, too much of the same thing 3 3 Southwest Single, no children I like the trails and parks but parking is difficult for handicapped 3 1 Northeast Single with children at home The restrooms are not opened and maintained 2 4 The taxes used for this are too high! This money should be funneled back into the school system. Our graduates are borderline illiterate. RRC Associates IMPORTANCE OF AVAILABILITY: 1=Not At All Important, 5=Very Important MEETING HOUSEHOLD NEEDS: 1=Not At All, 5=Completely Page 5 of 37 ---PAGE BREAK--- FARMINGTON PRCA SURVEY 2014 Invitation Web and Mail Versions Importance of PRCA Amenities How Much Household Needs Are Met Area Household Satisfaction with PRCA Amenities and Services 5 5 Northeast Couple, no children I believe that additional trail and facility's in the lions wilderness area would be beneficial and enjoyable. I also feel that more information on what is available to the community would encourage more use of our city's park system which is one of the most extensive per capita in the country. 5 5 Northeast Single, no children I have seen more safety patrol in Berg and Animas parks in years past. Much less so recently. 5 4 Northeast Couple, children no longer at home I would like to see more trails, the restrooms open for the entire year, and major signs indicating river trail system we have at Berg Park. 5 4 Northwest Couple with children at home Again sometimes it is difficult to find activities and to register for them. Activities are excellent just not as well publicized as I would like to see. By this I mean I think if more people were aware more would attend and utilize the resources we have available. 5 4 Southeast Couple with children at home I use baseball facilities 6 months out of the year both as a high school coach, division coordinator for FABC, and youth coach. While the maintenance staff for the baseball fields is strong when it comes to things such as turf maintenance, sprinkler maintenance, etc, they are weak when it comes to providing safe and quality playing surfaces. The maintenance crews don't fill sliding paths, don't flatten base wells, don't alternate dragging patterns to keep away ruts, and don't fill and tamp home plate and mounds to provide flat surface for hitters, catchers, and pitchers. 5 4 Southeast Couple with children at home Please make Mid-town facilities convenient via bicycle from the east and west ends. Main Street is not bicycle or pedestrian friendly, 5 4 Southeast Couple with children at home The animal shelter needs it's own adoptable pets website. The petfinder website does not get updated with all of the pets regularly enough. 5 4 Southwest Couple, children no longer at home My experience is that the restrooms are closed in the winter. I actually walk/ run in the winter. 5 3 Northeast Couple, children no longer at home The city needs one big central park. I love the parks and natural trails that we do have. I wish they could focus a little more on bring some tourism here with the mountain biking and river rafting and kayaking. We have a little longer season than Durango and could really offer some great stuff here. There are always people down here in the early spring and late fall riding the mountain bike trail and last weekend there were a couple of people with their kayaks at the park. We also have the longest continuously run mountain bike race in the nation ( road apple rally ) which a number of the old pros show up to every year and there in no advertising for it and very very little support. That could be a very big draw for the area. 5 2 Southwest Couple with children at home Yes, I shared them with you above. 5 2 Couple, no children Ice rink is an hour away in another state Four wheeling trails not kept as maintained as jeep trails 5 1 Northwest Couple with children at home its hard to even locate the right web site for information for someone new to the area. it would be nice if the links were easier to find and more information was provided on the Farmington visitors page. 4 5 Northeast Couple with children at home Last month Farmington was ranked #1 in NM for Family Destinations. We need to be sure families enjoy their visit to Farmington and give them great reasons to return! 4 4 Northwest Single, no children More patrols by park rangers and/or police officers are needed in some parks - there are some parks that I and my family won't use because of the gangs, inebriates and druggies (Brookside, Boyd Park, etc.) 3 4 Southeast Couple with children at home The drunks make it unenjoyable and ruin the view of Farmington. 3 3 Northwest Couple, children no longer at home I don't get out much these days. 5 5 Northeast Couple with children at home The restrooms are always locked! 5 5 Northeast Couple, children no longer at home Sad that more don't use what Farmington offers 5 5 Northeast Single with children at home Thank you for all your great work! 5 5 Northeast Single, children no longer at home Great job, proud of Farmington. Thank you! Rob Mayes is the best! 5 5 Northeast Single, no children Farmington has great recreational facilities RRC Associates IMPORTANCE OF AVAILABILITY: 1=Not At All Important, 5=Very Important MEETING HOUSEHOLD NEEDS: 1=Not At All, 5=Completely Page 7 of 37 ---PAGE BREAK--- FARMINGTON PRCA SURVEY 2014 Invitation Web and Mail Versions Importance of PRCA Amenities How Much Household Needs Are Met Area Household Satisfaction with PRCA Amenities and Services 5 5 Northwest Couple with children at home Some parks need to be checked by security more oftenb - drunks and drugs are seen by our children, panhandling, general feeling of uneasiness. Especially Brookside Park. 5 5 Northwest Couple with children at home We have the best PRCA! 5 5 Northwest Couple with children at home Would love to know about classes and other activities in the area 5 5 Northwest Couple, children no longer at home Have not used website 5 5 Northwest Couple, children no longer at home Need a sign for nature center across from new dog poung 5 5 Northwest Single with children at home Feeling of unsafeness in trails at Berg Park and number of intoxicated individuals at Brookside 5 5 Northwest Single, no children I think Farmington is doing an excellent job 5 5 Southeast Couple with children at home There is often trash and broken bottles in most of the parks 5 5 Southeast Couple, children no longer at home Lots of smokers still down along the river 5 5 Southwest Couple with children at home We really could use more restrooms in Westland Park 5 5 Southwest Couple, children no longer at home Extensive park system! Overall A+ 5 5 Couple with children at home Sometimes bathrooms are locked 5 5 Couple, children no longer at home Sad about access to Farmington Lake and kayaking 5 4 Northeast Couple with children at home I feel that Brookside Park is unsafe 5 4 Northeast Couple with children at home Need more trails, bike paths away from roads and traffic 5 4 Northeast Couple, children no longer at home Well trained/knowledgeable staff 5 4 Northeast Couple, no children Golf course times should be based on daylight hours rathre than 8 hour day! Golf course maintenance should be done after play. 5 4 Northeast Couple, no children Need more security visible on Riverwalk trails 5 4 Northeast Couple, no children Would like to see more mountain bike trails 5 4 Northeast Couple, no children Would love to see further expansion of river trails and ultimately a running group 5 4 Northeast Single with children at home Brookside Park needs more lighting at night and officer patrol. I do not feel safe there. Very dirty. 5 4 Northeast Single with children at home Quit going to the park by Miller St. bridge too much - too much dog shit in grass. That park is nasty!! 5 4 Northeast Single, children no longer at home I regularly use and appreciate the senior center in Farmington and feel very comfortable there RRC Associates IMPORTANCE OF AVAILABILITY: 1=Not At All Important, 5=Very Important MEETING HOUSEHOLD NEEDS: 1=Not At All, 5=Completely Page 8 of 37 ---PAGE BREAK--- FARMINGTON PRCA SURVEY 2014 Invitation Web and Mail Versions Importance of PRCA Amenities How Much Household Needs Are Met Area Household Satisfaction with PRCA Amenities and Services 5 4 Northwest Couple with children at home Need bathrooms opened in winter - understand why they are locked but during daytime hours need to be opened 5 4 Northwest Couple with children at home Things keep moving out of my neighborhood and I don't like driving across town to events. The website is getting better. 5 4 Northwest Couple with children at home Was disappointed by losing Baby & Me classes. Need offered with other swimming levels. 5 4 Northwest Couple, children no longer at home Graffiti cleanup is slow 5 4 Northwest Couple, children no longer at home Homeless and drunks a big problem in natural areas and trails 5 4 Northwest Couple, children no longer at home Lions Pool - showers need replaced, pool is always cold - older people need warm water, staff are very good, need ATV trails 5 4 Northwest Couple, children no longer at home More lighting and parking, clean doors and toilets of restrooms, people need to pick up dog poop and trash. Enforce leash law. Open Farmington Lake to boating with 4 stroke or electric motors. 5 4 Northwest Couple, children no longer at home Trails are lovely, but we feel unsafe going by ourselves - really miss going - they really impressed us when we moved here. Now we hardly go and never in the evening. 5 4 Northwest Single with children at home I wish there'd be power washing on brick areas where ducks and geese poop 5 4 Northwest Single with children at home More attention needed Pinon Hills golf course, needs to be better taken care of 5 4 Northwest Single, children no longer at home Farmington Lake handicap ramp broke? 5 4 Northwest Single, no children As a female, I don't believe it's safe to walk alone at Berg or Animas Parks, by the rivers 5 4 Northwest Single, no children I am disappointed that the river trails are not handicapped accessible 5 4 Northwest Single, no children I go to Berg Park the most. I like the fact that it is a big park and offers more space and I can enjoy the wildlife out there. Good for walking pets. 5 4 Northwest Single, no children Implement and increase safety patrol (land and water) at Farmington Lake 5 4 Southeast Couple with children at home Extremely beneficial to our community from young toold, but should be maintained better. Lighting on trails every so often. 5 4 Southeast Couple with children at home I think certain parks feel unsafe, especially later in the day/evening RRC Associates IMPORTANCE OF AVAILABILITY: 1=Not At All Important, 5=Very Important MEETING HOUSEHOLD NEEDS: 1=Not At All, 5=Completely Page 9 of 37 ---PAGE BREAK--- FARMINGTON PRCA SURVEY 2014 Invitation Web and Mail Versions Importance of PRCA Amenities How Much Household Needs Are Met Area Household Satisfaction with PRCA Amenities and Services 5 4 Southeast Couple with children at home Need more restrooms 5 4 Southeast Couple, children no longer at home Love the walking trails. More would be great. Best/only good thing Farmington has done. 5 4 Southeast Single, no children Clean up trash more by lakes (broken bottles, etc.). Maintain tennis courts better. 5 4 Couple, children no longer at home Use a spotter after dark - do no use vehical with backup warning beeper 5 3 Northeast Couple, children no longer at home We need bike trails and need better restrooms that are open! We need GREENSPACE - lots of clean green space that's safe, clean lots, trails galore, esthetics everywhere. Get rid of empty businesses, houses, etc. - recycle - reuse. Open the pool on Sundays. 5 3 Northeast Single with children at home Protection for solo and/or unarmed users/hikers 5 3 Northeast Single, children no longer at home Pool and senior amenities east side 5 3 Northwest Couple with children at home At our age we don't use many of the amenities - this is geared toward younger families 5 3 Northwest Couple with children at home I really enjoy Berg Park and Sycamore Center staff are wonderful 5 3 Northwest Couple, children no longer at home Free gas grill would be nice. Hate the extra work of bringing charcoal to the park. 5 2 Southeast Couple with children at home I bought a little boat to fish Farmington Reservoir like I have with my dad and grandfather all my life. Two months later it was closed to any watercraft. Major disappointment. 4 5 Northwest Single, no children All is well 4 5 Southwest Single, children no longer at home In Westand Park were natural trails bulldozed and widened for the handicapped or for trucks? The new restrooms are nice but don't seem connected to the city sewers. 4 5 Southwest Single, no children Outdoor pool would be nice to have at Westland Park 4 4 Northeast Couple with children at home I really wish the summer programs would have been advertised better. I would have done those programs instead of the community college if I had known. I am there several days a week and find her staff to be of great help and friendly, but seem to be afraid to take initiative for fear of getting in to trouble with her. She is not quite as pleasant as her employees and there seems to be a lot of turnover. 4 4 Northwest Single, children no longer at home Keep Brookside Pool open through Labor Day - it's still SO hot - at least on weekends for kids! Also - could we improve the pool - add some SHADE! And KEEP the price low - it's a great bargain! Aquatic Center is TOO expensive. Berg and Animas Parks are SO terrific to have in our town - watch for cold, passed out people there during winter, though. 4 4 Southeast Couple, children no longer at home Restrooms are of a poor design and not adequate 4 3 Northeast Single, no children Too much dog poop at parks 4 3 Southeast Couple, children no longer at home Very pleased with upkeep of parks 3 Southeast Couple with children at home Should provide jobs for youth, especially college students 3 3 Southeast Couple, no children No restrooms on the river trails area when cold 3 3 Southeast I don't know what programs are available. Costs for civic center presentations too much. 3 1 Northeast Single with children at home Haha - I don't even know where to start! (respondent expressed multiple dissatisfied ratings) 2 4 Too many park rangers not carrying their weight. Overstaffed! 2 2 Northeast Single, no children Need local "drag strip" to stop street racing! Safety issue 2 2 Southwest Single, no children Publicity needs to be at locations. Many don't have computers or ways to get to a central location. 1 1 Northeast Single, no children Look around. There are hundreds of square miles of hills and open lands, where we don't need to waste money creating trails for a program that impacts less than 1% of the population. How about we focus less on trails and more on the sprinkler systems that water the pavement on Main St. all night every night? There is no shade at the Brookside pool. 5 4 Northwest Couple, children no longer at home museums - have more exhibits Library - enlarge collection civic center - more events 5 4 Northwest Single, no children The Civic Center needs some upgrading. Often seems somewhat dirty and dark. 5 4 Southeast Couple with children at home Have not visited Senior Center, Indian Center or Community Center. My bad. 5 4 Southeast Couple with children at home The aquatic center is to crowded and the other public pools are not monitored enough for safety 5 4 Southeast Couple with children at home The charges the City of Farmington charges for relining baseball fields for high school tournaments is excessive. Please see my comments on page one for specific shortcomings in field maintenance. I spend hours prepping fields for use by high school and summer teams, so I know the man hours needed to prep a field for use. The price the City charges is excessive. 5 4 Southeast Couple with children at home The library staff could be a little more friendly. 5 3 Northeast Couple with children at home Lake Recreation (No kayaks in Farmington Lake is stupid, the mussels are already there from electric fishing boats). I would fish on the river, just not surewhere it is allowed, and the skate park needs more attention and input from skaters. 5 5 Northeast Couple, children no longer at home I would like better access to Farmington Lake - boating and fishing rental. 5 5 Northeast Couple, children no longer at home Wish Farmington had a larger venue to draw more entertainment 5 5 Northeast Single, no children Increase access to river and provide amenities - improve safety on trails and riverfront area - develop an amphitheater along river near Boyd Park 5 5 Northeast Single, no children We have camping near town? The Trust for Public Land offers consultation and funding for such projects - one helpful resource. We live in the lower part of Crestwood and have noticed a decrease in the amount of wildlife due to increased building, loss of vegetation, abuse of land and plants by motorized off-road vehicles, extensive erosion, speeding traffic, etc. This is a beautiful natural area that should be better preserved and cared for before more damage occurs. 5 4 Northeast Couple, children no longer at home These are all important but if they work good then I don't think they should be renovated unless needed 5 4 Northeast Couple, no children What about Pinon Hills - should be funded separately from Civitar! 5 4 Northeast Single with children at home Has Crouch Mesa been incorporated into city of Farmington? It would help if there are more activities like concerts, festivals, small carnivals and such through out the year in order to get people out and about to meet each other. I come from a big city and I feel there isn't much to do here during the fall and winter. I have not yet experienced enough of the summer months yet however I assume it will be lacking in the area of entertainment for families. we often travel to Durango instead of staying home in order to find things to do as their family oriented activities (museum, concerts, festivals) are larger and have more things to do. I'm not sure why the barricades were installed at Farmington Lake...it restricts boating access because the boat ramp was so poorly designed it is out of the water some parts of the year and shoreline access is the only option. 4 3 Northeast Couple, no children I feel that there are enough funds going to support Native American activities and programs. We are in desperate need of things to do that are "up to the times"for children and teens 5 4 Northeast Couple, children no longer at home With careful budgeting and prioritizing there should not be a need for increasing taxes 5 4 Northeast Couple, no children Love the Turkey Trot and Reindeer Romp - would like to see additional fun competitive runs and walks 5 4 Northeast Couple, no children The veterans memorial park off of Tucker Ave. is totally underused - why no memorial or Veterans Day ceremony held there? Shameful! Need more handrails. Broken sidewalks need repaired. 5 4 Northwest Couple with children at home Need a brand new recreation center 5 4 Northwest Couple with children at home Need concerts, indoor soccer, adult leagues for soccer, football, baseball, softball, tennis. There may be some adult leagues, but everyone is not aware. 5 4 Northwest Single with children at home Do great w/time change 5 4 Northwest Single with children at home The duck-feeding area is so unclean. Can it be power washed. It's an eyesore. 5 4 Northwest Single, no children I think the economy in Farmington is limited and the housing market is high out here. Although it's nice to appeal to tourists I don't think local taxpayers can afford more deductions in pay. It is nice to have options of places to go and things to see that don't cost a lot. 5 4 Northwest Single, no children I wish I had more time to get involved, but I work a lot of hours at this point in my life 5 4 Northwest Single, no children I would like Farmington to provide and support a facility for our many talented artists to display their works; this would include Native American artists 5 4 Northwest Single, no children One extremely reasonable fee that would allow frequent/loyal use at one specific faciity or at all facilities! (i.e. 500 for all pools, amphitheater, museums, concerts, etc.). City dance studio with lessons of all kinds. 5 4 Northwest Single, no children Sycamore Center is awesome! But I don't go there, things are for families, not adults. 5 4 Southeast Couple with children at home Weed control on trails, and replant areas damaged by the creation of trail expansion! 5 4 Southeast Couple, children no longer at home Need to concentrate on youth programs, tourism and getting people to retire in the area 5 3 Northeast Couple with children at home More plays, festivals, activities, shows brought to Farmington for elementary age kids would be great! Museums lack interest. 5 3 Northeast Couple, children no longer at home Think clean green community. Quaint historic pride. Healthy safe outdoors. This town began with trading posts and farming orchards. History should continue to inspire. How about World's Largest Trading Post? 5 3 Northeast Single with children at home Use of controlled substances and lack of patrol in known areas of use - problem. 2) Better coordination amongst city departments. 5 3 Northwest Couple with children at home Having more space at parks would be nice especially during the summer, or during seasonal events 5 3 Northwest Couple with children at home I don't mind tax money going to fund a new park 5 3 Northwest Couple with children at home This questionnaire is way too long - should list yes, no, don't know - but I get tired of reading through it 5 3 Northwest Couple, children no longer at home A little zoo. Police stop harassing so much. 5 3 Southeast Couple with children at home Create a walking/jogging path closer to the museum 5 3 Southeast Couple, no children Senior property owners/taxpayers are not getting enough benefit for the taxes we pay 5 2 Southeast Couple with children at home Get out of town examples and feedback 4 5 Northeast Couple with children at home Make another lake like Farmington Lake with plenty of camping/family time, swimming and fishing 4 5 Northwest Couple, children no longer at home I have lived in many US and overseas cities and towns, Farmington Parks are the best 4 5 Northwest Single, no children In 18 years I have enjoyed a lot that PRCA offers 4 5 Southeast Single, no children Adult soccer leagues 4 5 Southwest Single, children no longer at home Seem to be beautiful and adequate, just maintain 4 4 Northeast Couple with children at home When my husband and I want to go on a date, we feel limited to movies or bowling. Info on things to do in the evenings would be nice. 4 4 Northeast Couple, children no longer at home I would like to see better conditions at the rec center (bathrooms, roof, heating and cooling, cleanliness; basketball hoops are a danger) 4 3 Northeast Single, no children It would be nice to get to choke cherry from foothills on a ATV, UTV or dirtbike without having to load up and head out. Right now work, eat and sleep. 3 3 Northwest Single, children no longer at home Solar power amenities plus educational seminars on energy efficiencies/green living…erasing our carbon dating; recycle 3 3 Northwest No programs at this point. Not in this economy. Keep it simple. Downgrade if need be. No tax increase either. Boost economy first. Ask for money later. 3 3 Southwest Single, no children City has land close to hospital and river areas, ever considered a large beautiful RV park to bring in tourists and for people going to hospital. Old San Juan concrete area? Make money and bring in tourist and help downtown. Win win! 3 1 Northeast Single with children at home NO tax increase! Manage the money better that is currently budgeted! 2 4 Farmington has done a great job expanding the recreation and education areas! Stop raising taxes and focus on maintaining what we have. City should not provide every little last thing. 2 2 Southwest Single, no children Activities need to be localized so people who have no transportation can get there. Because of different cultures and gangs it is best to keep activities in neighborhoods. Don't feel survey covered important issues like transportation, cultural differences, communication in different languages, gang activity - sure don't want them mixed at "central" activity. 1 1 Northeast Single, no children I will not contribute one cent to any upgrades to the parks department. There are far more pressing issues to be addressed before this is even considered.
