Wall St. 566-2288 THE SILVER FITNESS CENTER 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Omega Gonzales: Recreational Program Coordinator Carol Gutierrez: Senior Center Aide Louella Pettigrew: Senior Center Aide I wish to personally thank all of our good friends at BP for being our corporate sponsor for the San Juan County Senior Olympics. After completing yet another successful Senior Olympics, we began our summer with a bang. WOW was the Flea Market a huge success. Thank you to the “Dirt Diggers”, and staff for all of their efforts to create such an enjoyable day for all our vendors. The hamburger fry along with the music provided by Grant & Randy created a party atmosphere. I heard over and over again what a wonderful party we put on! God blessed us with a perfect day, and it truly was enjoyed by all who attended. You will notice that our cover features photos from our Serenity Garden and Community Garden which are both located over at our Annex Building. Our Dirt Diggers Club takes care of both of these gardens. Please notice the wonderful photo of our gold fish pond, for it too is located in the Serenity Garden. Take some time to just sit and relax during the coolness of our mornings in our beautiful Serenity Garden. Many of you have heard our wonderful news, Linda’s PET scan results were normal; they showed no signs of cancer. We praise God for each of you, and thank you for the love and care you have demonstrated to us. We continue to seek answers to Linda’s other maladies, yet we are thankful that she again is enjoying a good quality of life. July 16th marks the day that our daughter, Carrie marries Stephen Crossley. This certainly will be a very special day for the Bomberger family and will be enjoyed by our immediate families who will travel to honor them both. Carrie and Stephen will be residing in beautiful Colorado Springs. This July marks my 29th anniversary with the City of Farmington (25 of those years as your Administrator here at the Bonnie Dallas Senior Center). I count myself blessed to be able to serve the senior community in my career. I often refer to my life at the center as a “love relationship”: I love each of you and in return the reciprocal love I receive from each of you I am so grateful for! The fulfillment my life has gained through my service here at the senior center is immeasurable. A friend of mine once commented that when he awakens in the morning the first thing he does before getting out of bed is to name 5 things he is Thankful for! What a positive measure to begin one’s day with, for none of us really know what each day will bring, yet each day truly is a gift from God. Therefore, may we rejoice in the gift of life and the opportunity to reach out and be a blessing to those we come in contact. “I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” ~Philippians 1: 3&6 God Bless Each of You!
