According to the FDA (2013). ‐Select only clean, un‐bruised fruits and vegetables from a reputable source. ‐Ensure that peeled fruits, vegetables and especially melons are refrigerated or iced. ‐Wash all items thoroughly before serving and use clean utensils to cut and store produce. You should always cut vegetables before meat or any other product to avoid cross contamination. Almost all fresh fruits and vegetables like bananas and strawberries naturally produce ethylene gas which helps to ripen the fruit but can cause other produce to go bad so store produce separately in original or specially made containers to slow the process. If you bought some fruit that is not ripe enough take it put it in a brown paper bag, close the bag and set aside overnight. Here is a recipe for Greek Tzatziki sauce that will dress up any salad or sandwich that you may have: Take one cucumber and dice it very finely, add the chopped cucumber to 1 8 oz. cup of plain Greek yogurt. Add 1 teaspoon of fresh chopped garlic and add a dash of lemon juice and a pinch of dill. Enjoy Source: FDA (2013). Retrieved From: http://www.fda.gov/Food/ResourcesForYou/Consumers/ucm114299
