Annual Adult Coed DODGEBALL Tournament Registration: NOW – April 1 (by 9:00 p.m.) Tournament: Friday, April 5 at 6:45 p.m. & Saturday, April 6 at 9:00 a.m. The 5th Annual Adult Coed Dodgeball Tournament will be held at the Farmington Recreation Center, 1101 Fairgrounds Rd. Form a team of 6 or more, at least 3 men and 3 women, prepare to dodge and throw your team to the championship, and have a blast! You must be 18 years or older to participate. Register online at webtrac.fmtn.org or at the Recreation Center. The fee is $45 per team. There will be prizes for 1st and 2nd place! There will be a Manager’s meeting Friday, April 5 at 6:30 p.m. Info: (505) 599-1184 Picnic in the Park Tuesday, April 2 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Preschool children and their families bring lunch and meet at the Riverside Nature Center for a picnic, followed by a story or activity and a stroller-friendly walk in the park every Tuesday beginning on April 2. Learn about plants, insects, birds, and all the interesting wildlife. Feed the friendly ducks, and go home in time for naps. This program continues every week throughout the spring and summer. San Juan County Senior Olympics Tuesday, April 2 9:00 a.m. The 2013 San Juan County Senior Olympics kicks off at 9:00 a.m. with a Basketball Free Throw at the Farmington Recreation Center on April 3, features many events over the course of a month, and ends with an Awards Picnic and Fun Relays at the Bonnie Dallas Senior Center on May 10. Men and women age 50+ may enter any of the events. The $7 fee covers your entry to any or all events including the dance, awards picnic, and a t-shirt. Farmington Museum Annual Docent Training Wednesday, April 3 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Current and new Farmington Museum docents are invited to a training session at the Farmington Museum, for the museum’s exhibits, including “From Dinosaurs to Drill Bits,” “Three Waters Trading Post,” and the “Adventure in the Arts” visiting exhibition. Lunch will be provided. The Get Golf Ready Program at Piñon Hills Golf Course is designed to teach you in five short lessons everything you'll need to know to step onto a golf course a get out to play with confidence. Friday Night Math April 12 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. E³ Children’s Museum & Science Center, 302 N. Orchard, is offering this special program for families. Children + family + math = a whole lot of fun. Info: (505) 599-1425 Benefit Navajo Rug Auction Saturday, April 13 4:00 p.m. The Farmington Museum Foundation and the Farmington Museum are pleased to announce the Benefit Navajo Rug Auction to take place at the Farmington Civic Center, 200 W. Arrington. The proceeds raised by this benefit auction go to helping support the programs, exhibits, and collections for the soon-to-be-built new wing of the Farmington Museum. The public can preview nearly 200 rugs of all sizes, styles, and price ranges on Friday, April 12, noon to 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, May 5, noon to 4:00 p.m. For more information call (505) 599-1180. Saturday Night Fun Saturday, April 13 5:30 – 10:00 p.m. Hey kids ages 7-14!! Come to the Farmington Recreation Center, 1101 Fairgrounds Rd., for an evening full of fun activities! Dodgeball, basketball, wallyball, four square, music, movies, board games, good eats, and more is on the agenda! This is a great place to hang out with your friends! Info: (505) 599-1184. ---PAGE BREAK--- Tuesday Twilight League Starts Tuesday, April 16 5:30 p.m. From April 16 to September 27, Piñon Hills Golf Course will host this event. Play is open to anyone – regardless of handicap! This will be a fun, quick, 9-hole, early evening event with a payout each play day. Some weeks we will play the front nine – other weeks we will play the back nine. The entry fee is only $10 – and the special Twilight League rate is only $15 – and that includes your green fee and cart! Pass-holders pay a $10 cart fee to play. All you need to do is visit or call the Pro Shop and register by 5pm on the Monday prior to the play day. For more information, call (505) 326-6066. Family Bingo & Pizza Night Friday, April 19 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. It’s Bingo time again! Stay out of the cold weather and bring the whole family to the Farmington Recreation Center for an evening of fun for all ages playing bingo and eating pizza! Come see the great health care options we have in the Farmington area. There will be something for everyone – free blood pressure checks, body mass index tests, and much more. In addition to free screenings, there will be information on preventative health, health education, and healthy living in our community. Booths are still available.
