Propane Tanks Handout (2019) Page 1 of 1 C I T Y O F E V E R E T T Permit Services PROPANE TANK PERMIT REQUIREMENTS HANDOUT Mechanical Permit 1) For residential installations, submit 2 copies of a site plan showing the location of the propane tank showing the distance to property lines, along with a mechanical permit application for the propane tank, piping and appliances that are to be installed or converted to propane. For commercial applications submit two copies of drawings showing proposed tank location and surrounding terrain, adjacent structures and roads, and the tank size/sizes along with the mechanical permit application. Permit Services is located at 3200 Cedar St. 2nd Floor, Everett, WA 98201. The application form is available online at everettwa.gov/permits. 2) The location of propane tanks must comply with the City’s municipal code (not located in any front or side setback), the International Mechanical and International Fire Code. 3) A rough-in inspection, piping pressure test and final inspection will be required and performed by Everett’s mechanical inspectors. Fire permit, mechanical permit and approved drawing must be on site for mechanical inspection. Fire Department Permit 1) You must obtain a permit from the City of Everett Fire Department prior to the placement of any Propane Tanks. 2) Obtain your Fire Permit at 2930 Wetmore Ave 7th Floor in Everett. Submit two copies of drawings showing proposed tank location and surrounding terrain, adjacent structures and roads, and the tank size/sizes.
