N E W S R E L E A S E FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 18, 2015 Contact: Sabina Popa, Everett Transit program manager, [PHONE REDACTED] Everett Station is a smoke-free campus effective Sept. 1 EVERETT – In a continued effort to provide customers and visitors of the Everett Station with a pleasant experience, Everett Transit is installing new signs to promote the Station as a smoke- free campus. The no-smoking policy includes the Everett Station building and its adjacent sidewalks, all bus bays and transit shelters, as well as the landscaped areas within the property. The smoking ban will include cigarettes, as well as e-cigarettes and vaporizers. There will be an added emphasis on enforcement in early September to remind station guests that smoking on campus is not permitted. Previously designated smoking areas will be repurposed this fall and will no longer be available. Everett Station, located at 3201 Smith Ave, serves as a transportation hub, as well as a career development center, and it is open to the public 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, including holidays. Local and regional transit service to the Station includes Everett Transit, Community Transit, Skagit Transit and Sound Transit.
