N E W S R E L E A S E FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 27, 2015 Contact: Aaron Snell, Community Information Officer, [PHONE REDACTED] Man surrenders after domestic assault EVERETT – An Everett man refused to surrender to police or release a two month-old infant for four hours after a domestic assault. At about 7:30 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2015 , officers responded t he 2600 block of Rockefeller Ave on the report of a domestic assault. Arriving officers contacted an adult female who had been assaulted in her apartment by a male . After the assault , t he female managed to get out but could not take her two month-old infant. The male , who is the infant’s father, remained inside the apartment and refused to surrender or release the infant. Officers surrounded the location and began communicating with the male. A fter several hours of negotiating, the male agreed to release the infant. At 10:30 p.m., the infant was released but the male retreated back inside. After further exchanges, the male surrendered to officers at 11:15 p.m . and was taken into custody without incident. The female sustained non-life threatening injuries . The infant was transported by Everett Fire to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett as a precautionary measure.
