April 3, 2015 Everett Police Department 1 Press Release Everett Police Department - Press Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 3, 2015 CONTACT: Aaron Snell, Community Information Officer Everett Police Department [PHONE REDACTED], [EMAIL REDACTED] Second arrest made in Everett shooting (Updates in RED) (Updated release – April 3, 2015) EVERETT - Detectives arrest a juvenile in connection with a recent shooting. On March 16, 2015, Major Crimes Unit detectives responded to a shooting in the 500 block of W. Casino Rd where a 22 year-old victim was shot in both legs. Their investigation led to the March 26th arrest of a 15 year-old Everett male for rendering criminal assistance by driving the shooter to and from the location of the crime. Additionally, they identified another 15 year-old Everett male believed to be the shooter and developed probable cause for his arrest. Detectives working the case located the second male in Portland, OR. He was arrested yesterday by the U.S. Marshals Service and will be returned to Everett for criminal proceedings. At this time, all suspects believed to be involved have been arrested. (Updated release – March 28, 2015) Arrest made in Everett shooting EVERETT - Detectives arrest a juvenile in connection with a recent shooting. Since the March 16, 2015 shooting, Major Crimes Unit detectives have investigated a shooting in the 500 block of W. Casino Rd where a 22 year-old victim was shot in both legs. On the night of the shooting, officers located and impounded a silver Dodge Magnum. Detectives were able to determine who had used the car that night. A second vehicle also left the scene of the shooting. It was located and the occupants stated the shooter and getaway driver were in the Magnum and called them with instructions not to go home, talk with police or answer their phones. Probable cause was developed to arrest a 15 year-old Everett male for rendering criminal assistance by driving the shooter to and from the location of the crime. He was located, arrested and booked into Denny Juvenile Justice Center on March 26, 2015, Detectives have developed probable cause to arrest another 15 year-old Everett male believed to be the shooter. Due to the sensitive nature of an ongoing case, he will not be identified. ---PAGE BREAK--- April 3, 2015 Everett Police Department 2 Press Release (Original release – March 16, 2015) Man shot in Everett EVERETT - Major Crimes detectives investigate a shooting that occurred overnight in Everett. At about 10:45 p.m. on March 16, 2015, officers responded to reports of shots fired and an injured man in the 500 block of W. Casino Road. Arriving officers found a 22 year-old Everett man with gunshot wounds and secured the area so Everett Fire could transport him to Everett Providence Regional Medical Center. Major Crimes detectives responded to the scene and worked through the night to interview witnesses and collect evidence. A nearby business was damaged by the shots and it was believed the suspect(s) left the area in a silver vehicle. As of this morning, detectives confirm numerous shots were fired during the incident and are w orking to identify the suspect. There is no medical update for the victim, but his injuries should be non-life threatening.
