Refer to the ‘Required Documents by Permit Subtype’ table below for the required documents categorized by permit subtype. Please note that the required documents listed below are specific to the fire alarm permit. Additional permits may be required for the overall project, which may require additional submittal documents. 2. See the ‘Document Type Information & Requirements’ section below for definitions and required details about each of the listed documents. Follow these requirements when preparing your plans to help expedite your permit review. Failure to comply with the requirements of each document type may result in an incomplete application or extensive corrections, lengthening permit review times. Please follow the requirements outlined below when preparing each document for submittal to help expedite your permit reviews. Prepare all documents following the Permit document upload standards & instructions (PDF). DOCUMENT TYPES: • Plans: Typical plan size is 22”x34” (preferred, can be printed on 11”x17” at half size) or 24”x36”. Must show the following: o Water suppression: ▪ Name of owner and occupant. Location, including street address. North arrow. ▪ Drawings and calculations to be stamped by a WSP certificate of competency holder; permit to be installed by a WSP certificate of competency holder. ---PAGE BREAK--- Page 2 of 2 3200 Cedar Street Everett, WA 98201 [PHONE REDACTED] 8am-12pm, 1pm-3pm [EMAIL REDACTED] everettwa.gov/permits ▪ Ceiling construction, building sections, location of fire walls, location of partitions, use of each area or room, location and size of concealed spaces, attics, closets and bathrooms, and any small enclosures in which no sprinklers are to be installed. ▪ Size of city main in street, pressure and whether dead-end or circulating. If dead-end, direction and distance to nearest circulating main. Include city main tests results and elevation of test hydrant. ▪ Make, manufacturer, type, hear-response element, temperature rating and nominal orifice size of sprinkler. Temperature rating and location of high-temperature sprinklers. ▪ Number of sprinklers on each riser, per floor. Kind and location of alarm bells. ▪ Type of pipe and fittings. Type of protection for nonmetallic pipe. Nominal pipe size with shown to scale. Location and size of riser nipples. Type of fittings and joints. Types and locations of hangers, sleeves, braces and methods of securing sprinklers, where applicable. ▪ Cut sheet and model number for double check detector assembly, or riser diagram per Drawing Standard 5248. All control valves, check valves, drainpipes, and test connections. ▪ Underground pipe size, length, location, weight, material, pint of connection to city main; the type of valves, meters and valve pits; and the depth at which the top of the pipe is laid below grade. This is required for all systems including combined domestic systems. ▪ For hydraulically designed systems, a representation of the hydraulic data nameplate and its proposed location. o Chemical suppression: ▪ Name of owner and occupant. Location, including street address. North arrow. ▪ Number of chemical suppression heads, located in section or axonometric over the equipment served by suppression.
