Noise Ordinance Handout (2019) Page 1 of 1 C I T Y O F E V E R E T T Permit Services EVERETT NOISE ORDI NANCE HANDOUT The City has established regulations for control of noise in residentially zoned property. For the purpose of regulating potentially disruptive or annoying noise, Ordinance No. 1556-89 states that all residentially zoned lands fall within Noise Control District No. 1. Therefore, it should be noted that under the City’s Noise Ordinance, construction related noise is limited to the following hours: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends and state recognized holidays Due to citizen concerns about construction noise in neighborhoods, and given the City’s intent to limit the occurrence of public disturbance noise, construction sites will be monitored and violators are subject to fines. Construction contractors are responsible for notifying subcontractors of the City’s noise regulations.
