YELLOW CURB: Restricted parking for loading and unloading -or- other posted restrictions. WHITE CURB: Restricted parking for passenger loading or disabled parking. Some parking violations result in an immediate impound while other violations are impounded after 24 or 72 hours. Contact Parking Enforcement for more information. Improper Parking: • Where regulating signs, curb, or street markings prohibit. • Longer than permitted by posted signs. • In alleys. (Paved/gravel areas do not always define the right-of-way.) • Vehicle with expired registration, license tabs, or improperly displayed license plates. • A motor home in a residential area for more than 24 hours. • Vehicles exceeding 16,000lbs. gross vehicle weight, or over 20’ long, or over 8’ wide in residential areas. • NO: Semi-trucks in residential zones or detached trailers on any city street. • On sidewalks or planting strips. • Blocking or hindering access to a mail receptacle. All parking is parallel unless posted or marked. • Front-to-curb (face-in) when angle parking unless directed by signs. • Within 12-inches of a curb or edge of the roadway. • Within designated spaces when marked. • Parked longer than 72 continuous hours are considered abandoned and may be cited and/or impounded. • Re-parking anywhere within the central business district, except for the purpose of immediate shopping or for securing services, is unlawful. • Re-parked within the same block without moving through or across a street intersection shall be deemed continuously parked. • On or within 20-feet of a crosswalk (marked or unmarked), unless permitted by signs or street markings. • Blocking or within 5-feet of a driveway, alley entrance or cross street. • Within 30-feet of a stop sign unless permitted by signs or street markings. • In a fire lane or within 15-feet of a fire hydrant. • Vehicles parked for the purpose of sale. “For Sale” signs are prohibited. • For the primary purpose of washing, greasing or repairing. • Inoperable vehicles on any city street, alley, or right of way. • In a marked disabled parking space without a valid disabled placard or license plate.
