See page 18 for more information. Family Fun Activities Enjoy the winter with a variety of Family Fun Activities held January through April. Don't miss the Free Family Ice Skating Party in January, plus the Father, Daughter, Mother, Son activities held in January, February, March & April plus the Free "Meet and Greet" BBQ at the Recreation Center in April. See page 8 for more information. Arbor Day / Community Tree Planting Program National Arbor Day will be celebrated in Evanston on Friday April 25th encouraging the community to plant trees. Do your part to beautify the community by planting a tree in the public-right-of-way near your home or business. Trees are available from the City of Evanston for $25 by calling the Evanston Parks Department at 789-2519 beginning January 2 through April 18, 2008, some restrictions apply. Winter in the Pro Shop & Spring Into Golf at the Purple Sage! The Pro Shop is open throughout the winter with a complete line of golf merchandise. Spring is just around the corner and the 18 Hole Golf Course is scheduled to open in April. For more information call the Pro Shop at 789-2383. Ice Skating & Sledding The BEAR Project Ice Ponds and the Buffalo Run Sledding Hill at the Bear River State Park will be open day and night for public Ice Skating and Sledding starting in December, weather permitting. Ice Skate rentals are available at the Recreation Center. See page 15 for more information. Cross Country Skiing XC ski trails are groomed weekly at Aspen Elementary School, Bear River State Park, Purple Sage Golf Course/Nordic Center and Lily Lake Cross XC Ski Area starting in December, weather permitting. XC Ski rentals are available at Purple Sage Pro Shop. Free XC rentals during Learn To Ski Day Saturday Jan 26, 10:00 am. See page 17 for more information. Registrations are accepted on a first come, first serve basis until class/activities are filled. If a class or activity is canceled, participants may be asked to sign up for another class or a full refund or credit will be issued. NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS will be given unless a class or activity is canceled. The Recreation Division Manager may consider exceptional requests. Credits must be used within one year from the day they are issued. Refunds are processed and mailed once a purchase order is signed. *Must be 18 yrs to enter and have a current 1 Mo, 3 Mo, 6 Mo. or Annual Pass to enter. All passes must be scanned at the Rec. Center Front Desk to record all visits, one visit per day allowed. Verification of participation in EPRD activities/programs is on your honor. Attendance and progress reports will be posted weekly.
