EVANSTON CITY COUNCIL Special Meeting June 10, 2014 The official record of proceedings for a special meeting of the Evanston City Council was held in the Conference Room of City Hall on the above date. Nancy Stevenson led those in attendance in the pledge of allegiance to the Flag. The roll was called and with a quorum being present, Mayor Joy Bell called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Those present from the governing body at the start of meeting were: Mayor Bell; Councilmembers; Tim Curtis Rex, Evan Perkes, David W elling, Saundra Meyer, and W endy Schuler. Staff members present were: City Attorney, Dennis Boal; Director of Administrative Services/City Clerk, Amy Grenfell; City Treasurer, Kathy Defa; Director of Public W orks/City Engineer, Brian Honey; Director of Planning & Development, Paul Knopf, Police Chief, Jon Kirby; Director of Parks and Recreation, Dennis Poppinga; Public W orks Director, Oop Hansen and Deputy City Clerk, Nancy Stevenson. A few interested citizens were also present. Approve Agenda Councilmember Schuler moved, Councilmember Meyer seconded, to approve the agenda. The motion passed unanimously with 7 yes votes: Bell, Rex, Perkes, W elling, Meyer, Schuler. Accept Proposal/Fireworks Display/4th of July Councilmember Welling moved, Councilmember Meyer seconded, to accept and award Proposal #2 submitted by Porter’s Fireworks, in the amount of $10,514.81, for the annual Evanston 4 of July th Celebration fireworks display . The motion passed unanimously with 7 yes votes: Bell, Rex, Perkes, W elling, Meyer, Schuler. Accept Proposal/Fireworks Display/New Year’s Eve Councilmember moved, Councilmember Rex seconded, to accept and award Proposal #2 submitted by Porter’s Fireworks, in the amount of $5,036.25, the annual Evanston New Year’s Eve Celebration fireworks display. The motion passed unanimously with 7 yes votes: Bell, Rex, Perkes, W elling, Meyer, Schuler. Accept Proposal/Fireworks Display/Tour of Utah Councilmember Welling moved, Councilmember Schuler seconded, to accept and award Proposal #2 submitted by Porter’s Fireworks, in the amount of $2,424.88, for the Evanston Start of Stage 5 of the Tour of Utah Race fireworks display. The motion passed unanimously with 7 yes votes: Bell, Rex, Perkes, W elling, Meyer, Schuler.
