BART is seeking your input on two issues: BART’s Vision and the El Cerrito del Norte Station Modernization. BART Vision BART is seeking your input on important spending decisions we need to make over the next 40 years. BART is faced with a number of important needs: the need to fix and modernize our aging system; the need to reduce crowding on trains and in stations; and the need to serve a growing region committed to sustainability- possibly with new stations and lines. We want to hear directly from the public about the improvements they want to see and options to pay for them. Station Modernization BART is embarking on a Station Modernization Program that will invest resources and efforts into the existing core stations and surrounding areas to advance transit ridership and enhance the quality of life around the stations. As part of the Station Modernization effort, BART has developed a conceptual redesign of the El Cerrito del Norte Station. The goal of the project is to develop potential station improvements to upgrade and modernize the station’s function, safety, capacity, sustainability, and appearance, and improve the customer and employee experience. BART desea conocer su opinión respecto de dos asuntos: la visión de BART y la modernización de la estación El Cerrito del Norte. Visión de BART BART quiere conocer su opinión acerca de las importantes decisiones de gasto que se deben hacer en los próximos 40 años. BART se enfrenta a un buen número de necesidades importantes: la necesidad de arreglar y modernizar nuestro anticuado sistema; la necesidad de reducir las aglomeraciones en los trenes y estaciones; y la necesidad de servir a una región en crecimiento que se compromete con la sustentabilidad posiblemente con la creación de nuevas líneas y estaciones. Modernización de la estación BART se está embarcando en un Programa de Modernización de Estaciones que invertirá recursos y esfuerzo en las principales estaciones existentes y sus alrededores con el fin de agilizar el tránsito de los usuarios y mejorar la calidad de vida en las cercanías de la estación. Como parte del esfuerzo de modernización de la estación, BART ha desarrollado un rediseño conceptual de la estación El Cerrito del Norte.
