The City of El Cerrito Recreation Department Invites applications for the position of Water Fitness Instructor (Aquatics Specialist I) Recreation Services - Aquatics Department Part-time Temporary/Seasonal Positions/No benefits Compensation: $18.99 - $23.08 per hour, depending on qualifications, education and experience. Duties and Responsibilities: Typical job duties are: • Responsible for choreographing and leading water fitness classes. • Coordinate pool time as needed with Aquatics Management with ample notice. • Responsible for preparing and putting away all necessary equipment. • Evaluate each student to ensure that the exercises are safe for him/her and that the participant is safe in deep water. Experience and Education: • Possess current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications. Ability to obtain and maintain certification from a nationally recognized water exercise organization such as Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA) or United States Water Fitness Association (USWFA). • Minimum age 18. • Attend continuing education workshops. • Previous teaching experience preferred. • Criminal & Child Abuse Index background check clearance.
