ATTENTION! PLEASE HELP US KEEP RECYCLING AFFORDABLE BY FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS MARKED BELOW. FAILURE TO COMPLY MAY RESULT IN YOUR RECYCLING NOT GETTING PICKED UP. Please put your cart out on the street with the wheels against the curb and the number on the front of the cart facing the street. This makes it easier for the trucks to automatically pickup your recyclables. Please do not put your cart on the sidewalk or in the “right-of-way” strip where it can block pedestrian traffic. Instead, put your cart in the gutter with the wheels against the curb for automatic collection. Please leave at least 1 foot between carts and 3 feet from parked cars, trees, and telephone poles so the truck’s automated grabber can pickup your container without causing damage. Please do not overfill your cart. Recyclables must fit inside the cart with the lid closed for efficient pickup. Extra recyclables may be taken for free to the El Cerrito Recycling Center at 7501 Schmidt Ln. Please break down large pieces of cardboard. Cardboard should be no longer than 3 feet in length and placed loosely in cart - larger pieces can get stuck in the cart and jam equipment in the truck. Please do not recycle pieces of scrap metal larger than a can in your cart. Large pieces can damage equipment or injure drivers. Please place only recyclable materials in the cart. Items such as Styrofoam, batteries, and compact fluorescent bulbs cannot be recycled curbside - please contact us for more information. If you have questions or need more information please contact the Environmental Services Division at [EMAIL REDACTED], or www.ecrecycling.org or [PHONE REDACTED]. Thank you for recycling! We noticed that your recycling cart was less than half full. If it is not inconvenient for you, we would like to request that you put out your recycling cart only when full, helping us save money and fuel! 1 Foot 3 Feet
