El Cerrito Ohlone Greenway Natural Area Addendum 2 Below is a list of answers to questions the City has received regarding its Ohlone Greenway Natural Area RFP since the last Addenda was sent on November 28. The deadline for questions pertaining to this RFP must be submitted by December 7, 2:00 pm. Q1: Are there major utility issues anticipated beyond that needed to support the lighting? A1:Thereareexistingundergroundandoverheadelectricalutilitiesandstormdrain facilitiesintheprojectarea.Beyondthetraillightingimprovements,majormodifications totheexistingelectricalfacilitiesarenotanticipated.However,minoradjustmentsto electricalutilitiesmaybenecessary.Significantimprovementsand/ormodificationsto the storm drain facilities may be required given the proposed rain gardens. Q2: Is the grant application available to review? A2:Yes,uponrequestfromMelanieMintz,[EMAIL REDACTED] Q3: In item Design Development and Public Outreach of the Scope of Services is the intent to further develop the existing conceptual plan or are you looking for alternative concepts? A3:Theprojectelementsdepictedintheconceptdevelopedforthegrantapplicationare fixedduetotherequirementsofthegrant.However,theapproachtohowtoincorporate the elements, and numerous design details, are open and will be developed by the selected design team. A4:Theremaybeaneedforbilingualinterpreters(Spanishand/orChinese.)The designteamdoesnotneedtoprovidethis.TheCitywill. Q5: Besides the JARPA, building and encroachment permits what other permits ---PAGE BREAK--- might be necessary? Also, will the City pay for the permit fees or will it be the consultants responsibility? A5:Inadditiontotheabove,includingtheCitybuildingandencroachment permits,anddependentuponthefinaldesign,BARTwillrequireapermitpertheCity’s LicenseAgreementwiththem.Also,apermittoenterfromtheElCerritoPlaza ShoppingCentermayberequired.TheCitywillpaypermitfees. Q6: How many meetings with BART are anticipated? A6:Minimal.TheCityhasbeenworkingcloselywiththeBARTEarthquake SafetyPrograminregardstothedesignoftheOhloneGreenway.Theteamisawaiting theproposedrevisionsandamendmenttotheirconstructiondocuments.Weanticipate approximately2meetings.Note:Itwillalsobeimportantthatthescopeofchangesto BART’splansbeasminimalaspossibletoreducepossiblechangeordercoststotheCity and that the Amendment to BART ESP construction documents be completed no later than March 30, 2011, but sooner if possible.
