11:00 a.m., Sat., July 19, 2014 Storybook Houses Hike This two hour tour of the northern border of El Cerrito takes us past some of the most charming houses in town, Poinsett and Tassajara parks, hidden creeks and more. We see some of the city’s loveliest Storybook, mid-century modern and ranch-style houses. We walk on the city’s public paths, see beautiful gardens, stone walls showing a wide variety of styles and technique, and natural stone outcrops of blue schist and greywacke. Meet: Poinsett Park corner of Poinsett Ave. and Harris Ave. (southern end of this pretty little park, one of the city’s oldest.
